what i am finding fascinating about this is that Bush is making personal clearance decisions.....

Classifications can be very complex. If you do not have an immediate need to know, it doesn't matter what your clearance is. Youre not authorized to see it.

i enlisted while we had hostages in Iran... i'd be there today if i was young enough.. that doesn't change the fact that there's been one major screwup after another...
the way i see it? when you are in? your duty is to follow orders, and when you are a citizen? it is your DUTY to keep the politicians as honest as you can... Bush has had a problem with "accountability"...starting with being asleep on watch on 9-10...

I think Bush was handed a turd. No matter how much you polish a turd...in the end, it's still a turd.
Either way, the President is only responsible for so much. I think its the government as a whole. Most of the people filling high level positions are the same people who have been in the government for the past 20-30 years. All they do is rotate to a different positions.
Personally I love to blame Clinton. He did absolutely nothing for the country. He sat there smoking cigars, getting head, and watching the approval polls on CNN for 8 years. All while riding the internet boom that fueled an economy that he has no right in claiming.
Instead of standing up to the international community, he rolled over and sold them secrets. Instead of acting on Bin Laden, he launched a few rockets that didnt do anything.
People starting blaming Bush before he was even elected. Which is really sad because I dont think anybody really knows why they hate him. They just do because its the "in" thing. Lets just blame it all on him.
I think we need to start thinking of solutions instead of spouting excuses.

ask Richard Clarke, he told it like it was, but people ignored him...his claims have proven true, even in hindsight George Tennet will write his book eventually...
Bush was quoted as being "tired of swatting flies" when confronted with terroists, because he was more interested in missile systems which was also a good thing...
everybody either wants to give Bush (and Clinton too) too much or too little credit IMO... Bush was on watch.. the WTC had been bombed once already... the Cole got hit... if that had been my ship? i woulda been in that berthing compartment...
he wasn't that interested in a little terror outfit...

No matter how you look at it, 9/11 was the best thing that could have happened for the Bush agenda, and it handily provided the “new Pearl Harbor” of the PNAC's wet-dreams.

How do you expect to change things if you dont even exercise voting. With that said, if you don't vote than you have no business saying anything since you obviously failed to do your half of the bargin.
You can't win the lottery if you dont buy a ticket.

Bush personally making decision on who has clearances is odd... i'd say that theres a lot more to this than we have been told... and? my guess is that in history Bush will be shown to have severely broken the Constitution here... presidents shouldn't be bothered with this type of administrative decision
the war powers problem right now is that there will always be terrorists... the president is the commander in cheif of both the military and the justice dept....
by deciding to put whatever he wants into the military side instead of the justice side? he is manipulating the Constitution for his OWN needs....

Yes, that was my point too. I tried to make that plain with emphasis....sorry if I failed.
He denied access to anyone that might blow the whistle or call foul or that had that authority, while leaving even non-cleared dubyaphile step-and-fetch-its access.
It clearly indicates he KNEW what he was doing was not legal.
