Everyone say goodbye to the keyboard...

Duke, I learned only a few months ago about "chuck-eye" -- ever asked for those? Not suggesting for tomorrow, but they're "almost" ribeye, at half the price...fwiw

Posted by ruthie on :

maybe some plain ole burgers and dogs ,along with some steak and veggie cabobs, potato salad, squash casserole and a few choice deserts. At least for a start.....

Posted by Johnwayne on :

Tex-
Chuck eye? never heard of that. I wil have to ask my dad, who is a butcher. Hard to believe something would take the place of my beloved rib-eye.

Posted by T e x on :

JW--not "take the place" but dang near as good...and, as mentioned, around here at least it's about half-price...worth knowing about, for sure...

Ruthie--nice idea on the squash casserole...

Grilled hyena tongue, fried monkey doo, fresh
tossed rabbit pellet and nightshade salad all
with chilled elephant drool to wash it down.

Dessert will be frozen giraffe snot and
water buffalo short cakes.

An African cuisine.

king crab legs and artichokes

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Those King Crab legs can't be fresh down there, unless your richer than we think you are..LOL

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Got four Keyboards, be a long shot...

Posted by glassman on :

nope, but they freeze better than most seafood...

and if there were any fresh seafood down here? i'd get it...

the only fresh seafood we get this far inland is crawdads.... and well, i just don't care for 'em that much...

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

OMG glass, crawdads ? thats like eating bugs!

Posted by Relentless Despot on :

Glass, the coast is only about six hours away from you.. make a trip.. most if not all of our seafood industry is back up and running.
I agree.. crawdads are nasty.

down here? oysters only in "r" months

Posted by Peaser01 on :

MMMMM. Just got home from a picnic.

Had me some raw clams, steamed clams, Pork BBQ + steak sandwiches, and shrimp.

Not much beats clams on ice(the half shell) with some lemon juice, or horshradish + hot sauce.

Ready for a nap.

JW, haven't gone to the oyster farm yet, so don't know the grade right now, takes a few minutes. lol

Posted by Johnwayne on :

Oyster stew with steak,,, now that's a meal!

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

I cook um on the BBQ in the shell, almost forgot the mussels, fast, in just a little bit of sea water and butter.

Ever chew on any purl? [Big Grin]

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Folks would go nuts around here if they had to wait for the R'S...We do get a nasty tide once in awhile that can foul up the works with plankton..

July messes with some of our new Asian friends...

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

In the water or on top?

Posted by Peaser01 on :

On top.

"Ever chew on any purl?"

Hmm, well, I am familiar with an oyster like taste
and oyster like consistency.

really you should hand out puke bags before your visits.. [Smile]

Posted by Peaser01 on :

Hmm, a pig in a pit sounds like an idea for tomorrow.

I'll be at my folks' tomorrow, so it'll be a smorgusbourg either way.

Love the 'tater salad mom makes.

A little gritty? Maybe that was plankton?

I was chewin' on some sand a little earlier today.

If you've never had raw clams, it's like eating jello, only better.

They may not look good to the eye, but they taste good on the palate.

I first tried them 3 years ago today, and I was hooked.

Posted by T e x on :

what if you *have* had raw clams? Then what's it like...???

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

peaser gut bomb food, that lad can eat ANYTHING!
And then gives us the after math in detail! PEW!

Depends on the in-laws.

Frog legs are good too. They really do taste like chicken.

Hot here...time for red beer!
