Once, I was at a large organized Picknik, west of Austin at lake Travis.
I had baited a couple of lines on old fashoined cane poles for the kids there to have fun. After a while, the kids went to screaming for help and when I got there I could see that one of the lines had something on it that was clearly a bunch stronger than the kid with the pole.
I took the pole and attempted to muscle it out, which I did, snapping the pole in two just above where I was holding it. Finally, grabbing the line itself, I pulled out a huge bream that later weighed in at just over 3 pounds, the biggest blugill I or anyone there had ever seen alive.
