You're wrong. The vast majority of these stocks are good for a very short term hold, sometimes a couple of days, sometimes a few hours. Pink sheets and BB stocks as a rule DO NOT move to higher exchanges and if you hold them long term, you'll lose, yes, even with GZFX, the current favorite.

wait for them to go back down (and they will)buy again and sell high...
that is the only way to play these investments... wish I would have had someone telling me this a couple of years ago...

Oh no then how did GAXI move to the Amex (now GAX) from the OTCBB? there are so many OTCBB that went to a larger exchange, you are a rookie if you can say it is a rule they dont move to higher exchanges LOL!!!

Tell you what, do a little research on all of the companies claiming they're going to a higher exchange then see how many actually do it. Any idea how many pinks did it last year? 15. That's it. Sure, you can pick one of the thousands out that actually did it but AS A RULE, it doesn't happen.

Penny stocks are not for holding is the general rule... this does not mean no penny stock is worth holding. Also trying to say any stock with over three pages on a message board is just naive. Go to yahoo and look at how many pages SIRI has... or any other stock. Do penny stocks make it to the major exchanges? Some but it is extremely rare. Most penny stocks are share selling scams... but not ALL.

Agreed...I've played many of these stocks listed more than once for some nice profits...QBID, GZFX, PLNI, and I even made a boatload on MLON...but I have learned to never go long!!!

This mentality has become the plague of the OTCBB. Allthough not all go to higher exchanges you have to admit many are poised for trading in the $2-36 dollar range just check out FGMG and CXTI to name a couple.... FGMG was my Money maker play being from Florida i thought it was a worth while play they were going to vote for slot machines. I bought 3000 shares * 7.00 and sold for $33 and guess what? is=ts an OTCBB stock. So your gonna tell me that no otcbb is worth a hold? I held for about 6 months!...6 MONTHS, after a friend gave me some valuable information. go ahead and do the math....hah

Not sure what your trying to accomplish here b/c most here are not merely "momomentum" traders,many like the excitment going to bed at night and thinking about what tomorrow will bring Some........hold the stock too long others play the charts and others play on news..... you cannot put a stock into a category b/c many people are in it or talking about it.
Do you think anyone became "rich" with GTEL or QBID? I'm sorry but "NEVER"or"CAN'T" are not in my vocabulary.
More traders get stuck with these MOMO plays B/c they go down as fast as they go up and your already out after you make your 20%
or maybe you can explain more about how much and how to make money with these momo plays....... I think that would be much more helpful than what not to play. How much should I invest in a play $500 or $5000?

I agree that after a bunch of pages it gets old. The problem is you can't tell when news sometimes as It only gets posted on the thread.
Perhaps.....A thread should be posted daily for news runners. Add the news to it as it hits.
Lots of stocks with 5, 6, 10 pages that I rarely look at but that's where the news is being posted.

I try to post news as it comes out on a new thread......Doctoall is a Mod. and he locks it; he said most e-mails to him want only one thread;but it's when news is coming or just out when these move; maybe you can e-mail him about it or do a poll for a new thread for when news comes out?

Not agreeing or disagreeing with anything said in this thread, but here is one for books. back in 1998 I bought 150K shares of MTCH at .25 sold 1 year later for 26.06 so it does happen. It was a medical co that helped to discover the aids drug nupogen which is now used in cancer treatment to build white blood cells. the co has since been bought out by the huge drug co.

Check any of them... most of them will run... it would not last more 2 days, after that is going to go down..... You might get a a chance to know why it went down if it if an OTCBB.. A pinky forget about it ... no one know why and would nor be able to tell you when is going back up, except for the CEO... so play the run a coule of days once it start going down exit... if you like that pr so much keep and eye to it and get back in it when is low... ride the downtrend and you will most likely loose... there are some exceptions ... .000001 %of them make it good... weight that...
If it really going to uptrend .... and the news are good... remember stocks will not run endlessly... they will most likely have to retrace ... wait for the retrace and ride the next wave up.... let it go up anothe rcouple of days... and wait for the dip...
Loose the mentality of missing the train and it will be good for you... IMO, There will be others if not that one

I guess that was very poorly worded. I sold some of the stock on the way up when it reached 26.06 I sold the remaining 36K shares when all was said and done (my uncle sam wanted his cut) I cleared about 680K. Still impressive for the pennies.
