OK. This is my situation, I am a working stiff, so I can't be at the computer all day to monitor the stocks. However I could set up a computer at my work area ( I am an offset pressman ) and have it on all the time, But, I still could not sit there and watch it. What I need to know, is it possible to set it up to give me an audible alert on a stock I am following closely.

I use Scottrade. Under the "Manage alerts" you can set up alerts for price/news/% etc. The alert can be sent to whichever e-mail address you set (primary/secondary) If the alert is triggered it sends an e-mail which you could have set with an audible when it hits your inbox. The e-mails are pretty quick.

Thats one good idea....do any of the other brokers work the same way....I probably wont use Scottrade....i think the price for trading pennies would be a little much starting out...to bad they add extra per share for pennie stocks.
Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

The PR services such as Marketwire, BusinessWire, etc allow linking to a variety of sectors for e-mail news alerts.
Ultimately, for penny trading, buying won't be as large an issue as selling. Sounds like you check out Choicetrade and stop-limit orders... They have streamer package, but you'll pay about $15/mo unless you make "x" amount of trades per month. Medved Quotetracker is still free, I believe...

Scottrade doesn't have a per share extra fee. It's 0.5% extra, which can be significant if you're trading thousands of dollars, but based on your mention of just starting out, I'm guessing you won't be. In other words, if you buy $100 worth of a stock it will only be an extra $0.50 commission. Not that I'm advocating wasting money unnecessarily, but Scottrade has some good features, and if you don't have multiple accounts like many of us do, there are far worse brokers to have IMO.

I dont mean to be funny, but shouldnt you be watching what the press is doing than eyeing the stock screen while your machine is running ?

Thats why I need the bells and whistles (sound). If I have done the proper makeready on a print job it will run all day long. A press is always refered to as a she, like a ship is. Just like any lady you have to know what makes em tick like a clock, what ticks em off, and be aware that no matter what you do, once in a while you scratch your head and wonder.....dang what did I do wrong. If your married, have a lover, or GF, you get the picture.
