I guess there was already a topic in the arkives, but couldn't locate it.
anyhow
whats the basic stadegy?
I imagine every stock is different.
but lets take a OB $1 stock, and the Q comes out in the moring, 9AM, and she rides up...3 day bull run.
Lets say i bought 5K shares at 75 cents prior to the run.
Can you give me some possible sensarios. The dips and valleys, AM/PM EOD prices/opening .
Also someone said he doesn;t like to buy the same stock in one day, or he may be 'benched". Whats he mean "benched"?

HAa
HA
I've got this flipping thing all figured out.
I see no one is willing to give up their secrets.

What happens is this.
If the price starts out witha nice little 10+ % run up....by god sure enough downwards she drops at say 9:30 or 10 am....drops even may drop below the start price!!!!
Now you guys wait til she bottoms out then you move in and buy.....now all you have to do is wait....wait for the right killer moment and you sell as she moves back up slightly over the original open price...for a nice clean 15%+ profit...sweet.

MUhahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa
all I'm going to do is flip flip flip...................

As long as you have either 25 grand in your account or have a margin account otherwise you will be deemed a day trader & there are different rules for that.

Even if you don't have 25k in your account..you can still flip a stock...BUT? you have to wait for your funds to settle...OR
If you only have 2500? Well buy $1000 and flip in $500.00 chuncks...(that way you have free funds and don't have to wait for funds to settle)You can only day trade 3x in 5 days...IF you buy on Tuesday and sell on wednesday...that is NOT a day trade...

yes...actually two strategies per play: entry & exit...most seem to have a problem with the exit.

Keep a journal...

no kidding.

ya know?

the more I think about this?

given: "wife sez, if you lose the 2K, don't ask for more"

You shouldn't be trading, imo...

Sounds to me as though you'd be better served focusing on marriage issues...

why?

Wherever you're getting your trading dough from? It should be "capital" ie, a "tool."

sounds to me as though you and wife have not agreed on capital defintion, much less "strategy."

doesn't sound like you have much of a plan.. just curious but what books have you read and/or what technical analysis knowledge do you have? If you haven't read much or at all I suggest you read Toni Turner's books:

A Beginner's Guide to Short Term Trading

A Beginner's Guide to Daytrading Online

You also might consider these books as well :

Trend Following by Michael Covel www.trendfollowing.com

The Candlestick Course by Steve Nison www.candlecharts.com

Thanks Machiavelli
I'll track down some of those books on amazon today.

Plan?..tey as best i can to buy in low and hope to sell for any profit, is my short term plan.
Books? None
Tech analysis/ little to none.
like take a look at atleast's analysis on SPZI on Bottom Busters.
I know some of the terms, but as to what he's saying, ain't got a clue.

So I 'll just watch it and if it goes lower, lower, I'll buy in.
i know how to read a chart in that sense.

Get the book(s) and do not buy in against the trend. If the trend is down wait for it to reverse. Do not buy in just because the price is lower and you expect it to reverse at any moment. Remember the market is always right not you.

I got into trading about 8 months ago and it seems as if when I buy a stock it always goes down. Does anyone know of a good newbie site I can read to learn the basics on entry points and reading charts? I guess any site with good info would be a help. I have searched and found millions of sites but I wondered what you guys considered a good site.

Any help would be appreciated...

read a book and forget sites.I guess you learned your first lesson. Don't enter this game without at least learning the basics. Book recommendations below:

glib was exactly the word I was looking for.

Gotta tell ya paul, I have seen your posts on various threads and I can't tell if you are serious, or in serious need of help.

For the last couple of years I have spent hours every night reading tutorials, reference sections on various threads/boards, learning chart reading and T/A on stockcharts.com and various sites, and sifting through the BS on various forums to find the rare nuggets of truth. Point is, It takes time and a serious effort to learn this game. I still feel like I have just scratched the surface in my own quest. Good luck man. You have a long way to go. And for god's sake, give your wife her money back and paper trade for a while.
