It has come to my attention the last several weeks that some group or individual is running/pumping worthless shells. I’m sure it goes on quite a bit. The reason I’m aware of it is I hold two companies that I’ve been a bag holder in for a few years. They usually have 0 to maybe a couple thousand shares trade a week. But they are definitely bankrupt and have absolutely no company activity. None what so ever (believe me I’ve tried contacting them)….so why they trade at all I do not know. Then all of a sudden they are flying for one day huge over 1000% gains, then next day dead in the water…NO volume. I bring this up because newbie’s are getting burnt hard. I was once new and burned many times. I believe this to be one of the best most honest sites and many people willing to help others gain $ and wisdom. It’s hard enough trying to pick an entry/exit point in a stock that the company does exist and does at least seem to be on the up and up. Now throw in someone running a worthless shell. The odds are stacked against us unless we stand together and make others aware. I know we all sometimes just jump into a stock because it’s running on volume….there’s not always time to do any DD. Just beware you very possibly will lose some money. Most times you may only get stuck getting in to high and having to exit with a small loss…..but if you jump into a shell that never has volume and is running. When it stops you may lose ALL your investment!

I in know way will claim to be an expert. I try to only post news or a chart that looks good. I am even hesitant any more to post a runner because a few months ago I saw one that I watch and it started going. I yelled at .0006. As I watched T/S volume was huge….kept going to .0008 then stopped. I jumped out for a decent gain. It dropped back to .0005. Some one PM’d me that they got in at .0008 and wondered if I thought it would go back up. I had know idea but yet I felt bad for someone who got caught in to high.

So to the point…. We are all trying to make money. We all have our favorite picks we hope will go up. Unfortunately someone is buying at a high and is going to lose….. no way to change that. Just have to do our best and hope newbie’s are learning and aware the possibility to lose your investment is there!

Well I’m way off track from my post…..There is a stock being pumped right now on this board that is a shell,(ECTA) At least I have not been able to contact them for two years. They no longer have any known company activity. Any searches only show activity from 2003-04. Now I don’t know the individual pumping this…or who started it originally. But for someone to believe that this stock will go from .04’s to .30 and beyond. I highly recommend you do some research. Prove me wrong for your sake if you are in it! Don’t just say the MM’s are playing games and they will let it run next week. They will let the price go up if it’s pumped and some individual is willing to buy shares. Find some real info showing the company is back in business. Or you will be stuck holding a worthless shell!

Good luck to all here trying to play fair…..and may the sharks be exposed!

I possibility of shells is if they get bought up and do a name change... some people make fortunes off these.

binnocent, if you (or anyone) find a shell being pumped without that disclosure, please post that for peeps to look into.

Shells aren't worthless, but you should get out on the first day pop. I look at them as a bonus check. If activity continues beyond one day, that's as close to insider info that we are going to get. Somebody is moving in. And at this point, getting back in for a profit is 50/50. The second play is not for the inexperienced.

HGOI/now HGOT is a good example of the downside. I missed the one day play. But, having followed the parent company from the beginning, I knew the second play was going to be a loser (reverse split). There's nothing sinister about this, they cleaned up the shell. The best is yet to come from this one, if they use or sell it.

One thing you said strikes a harmonic chord with me...

...Some one PM’d me that they got in at .0008 and wondered if I thought it would go back up. I had know idea but yet I felt bad for someone who got caught in to high...

Look at it upside down for a minute. You felt bad for taking a profit. You felt bad because someone asked for your analysis instead of doing their own work. Did they really get in too high? I keep a strict 'internal' rule about posting picks on allstocks, mostly because of what you are saying. At what point in time do you become a pumper? If you look, my posts are confined to stocks that you can still buy at or near my price. You would think all I own is trash, that's okay. If it is above my price, I ask myself if I would still buy in at the current pps (whether I do or not is not the question). If yes, then I may throw my 1/2 cent opinion in the pot. I have a lot of stocks that sit in my ports with 2000%+ unrealized profits. Advertising them would be a kiss of death.

Hmmm... there's an awful lot of foreigners on these boards.

I am bringing this down because the Newbies NEED to read it...

DO your DD...and Be careful!!!

Side note...is there any way that "allstocks" could ask posters to post the Price on the "topic"...so that Peeps know what the price was at the time of posting? Or maybe on the first post?
