can someone please give me a brief explanation on how to read level 2??? How do I know when a stock is about to rise or fall?

well, you look at the bids and the ask, and usually if the bids have a "stacked" amount of MMs, that usually indicates a high demand. If there is more MMs on the ask, that would indicate less demand= more selling.
