You just need a video card with 2 outputs. Most new ones have them these days.

You could also get a PCI video card to go alongside the AGP one you already have.

yeah, you just right click the desktop and go into the screen properties. you should see two screens instead of one, you can then chose what position each screen is relative to where you physically have them.

The ATI Radeon's are my favorite $120+. Support flat panel, CRT's and TV....check 'em out. They expand the display across two monitors. http://www.ati.com/

I hate to contradict Dardadog, especially after all I've learned from his posts, but I service PC's for a living....thousands. In my experience, NVIDIA cards have a shorter lifespan, about a year. That's why I recommend ATI cards. Sorry Dog...

Marty, if you clean the ghost turds out of the cooling fans on the invidias--they last longer...

also, snap out the fan blades, and put a single dab of silicon GREASE on the bushing....

LOL glassman.....I prefer to keep them out of systems.....but keeping the cat hair, dust and dirt out of the entire system, certainly helps...LOL.....

on a side note....serviced a client 3 years ago who had 25+ Micron PC's with NVIDIA cards in them....almost to the day, all the cards fried after 1 year of ownership....LOL....I cringe today when I service a PC with an NVIDIA card.

Thanks for the heads up. Had mine for about a year now. I'll watch for trouble.

I agree with Marty, and I build computers from scratch as well.
Radeon 9600-9700+.. somewhere in there.. the newer models are designed to handle 2 flat panel monitors.. older models you'll need an adapter. And newer models come wit Hydravision software which sets up dual/triple monitors beautifully, with lots of options.
My experience is Nvidia's, especially with lots of use and running hot, kick it after 12-18 months.

i'm runnin 4 and i could get six if i had more space on my desk....

the coolers on the cards make it tight, but i could add another invidia GE force FX 5200 PCI...
and i have a 5200 AGP too.....i can set the screen resoltion different on each monitor with the invidia software....overlapping desktops with different resolution does some odd things once in awhile, but i have been running this setup for only 6 months so......

my living room looks like the control room on the Starship Enterprise...make it so, number one.....LOL

i was really looking forward to having a dogpound...
he and i trade very differently, but his insights helped me avoid a lot of serious problems as i moved from "investor" to trader....
i am especially interested in how to use excel spreadsheets to track MORE of the pennies...
i am maxed out in terms of what i can manage without spreadsheet data....
i run screeners every day after hours looking for subtle volume "irregularities" but i end up with tooooo much data to manage effectively..
