HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LHET-- Bel Hernandez, CEO and president of Latin Heat Entertainment Inc. (Pink Sheets: LHET), announced today that on the onset of Latin Heat Magazine's upping its print run from quarterly to bi-monthly, it has initiated discussions with the largest publisher in Latin America for possible alliance. In publication since 1992, Latin Heat is the only English-language entertainment trade magazine focused on Latinos in entertainment. With a population of more than 38 million, U.S. Latinos are the largest minority group in the United States, with an annual purchasing power of $760 billion, which is projected to grow to $1 trillion by 2008. Leading the consumer buying power of this group are the second/third generations of predominantly English-speaking, high-income-earning Latinos, who identify with both mainstream and Latino culture. Although there are a multitude of Spanish-language magazines targeting Latinos, when it comes to English-language magazines there are but a handful, and none focus on the business of Latinos in entertainment, as does Latin Heat. "We established Latin Heat magazine because there was no entertainment publication publicizing the achievements of Latino talent in Hollywood," commented Hernandez, founder and publisher for the magazine. "After 11 years, there is still scant information of Latino talent in the more established Hollywood trades, aside from mega stars like Jennifer Lopez and Rick Martin. In contrast, Latin Heat's main focus is to provide a forum for all Latinos in entertainment, the mega stars as well as working and upcoming talent, whether it be in front of the camera or behind," Hernandez added. She continued, "Latin Heat not only exposes Latino talent to Hollywood but Hollywood executives also use Latin Heat to track talent and trends coming out of the Latino community." Led by Hernandez, Latin Heat Entertainment Inc. is an entertainment media company focused on the coverage of U.S. Latinos in entertainment, in English. LHE Inc. achieves its mission in several forms: Through the entertainment trade magazine, the Latin Heat Web site, www.latinheat.com, the Latin Heat entertainment conference and the Latino Production Resource Directory. Future endeavors include a magazine-style television show, which is already in development, and adding an international subscriber base. Hernandez has worked closely with several Hollywood entities, including IFP/w, ABC7, WGA, SAG, DGA and Latino community organizations like the National Council of la Raza, Latino Entertainment Media Institute, in promoting diversity, establishing Latin Heat as the entertainment industry's first mover when it comes to addressing Latinos in the industry. Latin Heat is looking toward expanding its circulation and subscription base both nationally and internationally and to that end has begun discussions with the largest publishing house in Latin America to achieve this goal.
