BUGS Adds New Stories to Popular Educational Website, MikeyMicrobe.com; Five Stories Tell How Mikey Microbe and the Action Team Clean up Pollution In Mexico
7/20/2006

CARLSBAD, Calif., Jul 20, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
U.S. Microbics Inc. (OTCBB:BUGS)(BCN:615212) announced today that it has added three new stories and several other new characters to its popular environmental education website at www.MikeyMicrobe.com. Aimed at K-12 students, as well as the public at large, the expanded website includes English and Spanish versions, downloadable coloring and comic books, student teaching materials, Mikey Microbe Action Team membership applications and many other educational materials providing creative and fun insights into innovative solutions for eliminating dangerous toxins from the environment.

With the recent adoption of new environmental standards in Mexico which parallel the U.S. EPA laws and the substantial environmental cleanup work anticipated in Mexico by BUGS' subsidiary, Sub-Surface Waste Management (OTCBB:SSWM), the Spanish version of the website has become a popular site to educate, communicate and show government leaders and the general population how to take action to clean-up pollution using bioremediation and good engineering practices pioneered in Mexico by SSWM.

The cartoon characters include Ricardo Ambiente and his family. Ricardo is a hard working microbe and a leader in his community who wants to help the government clean-up pollution. He invites Mikey Microbe and the Action Team to help improve the quality of life for the people of Mexico by reducing and eliminating pollution in a series of five stories which can be seen at http://www.mikeymicrobe.com/mexico.htm .

The introduction story tells about Mikey Microbe and his friend, Ricardo Ambiente as well as Ricardo's Papa and daughter, and the Microbial Action Team. The introduction also tells about the "bad guys" including Lee Key, Nitrate & Nitrite, and the worst enemy of all: Doing Nothing.

In the first story Mikey Microbe and the Action Team confront Lee Key to clean up petroleum that spilled from a pipeline. The story illustrates the important steps starting with identifying the problem, then developing the right plan, and following the plan until the pollution is cleaned-up to the standards set by the government.

In the second story Mikey Microbe and the Action Team help eliminate toxic chemicals from large-scale chicken feedlots. The #1 source of agricultural pollution of drinking water is nitrates and nitrites from animal waste. Mikey and the Team reduce the nitrates and nitrites to levels that the government defines as safe.

In the third story Mikey Microbe is asked to eliminate cyanide pollution from mining, including new and old mines for gold, silver, and other metals. The cyanide in waterways is hurting the fish. Mikey shows why he's called the "Codfather" as he asks the Action Team to make the pollution an offer it can't refuse.

The fourth story introduces "Zero" - who is the "Zorro" of environmental action. Zero wants to help the government work to achieve zero levels of pollution by eliminating pollution at its source. Mikey Microbe (dressed as Zero) meets an old turtle named "Nothing Doing" who learns the importance of participating in the government's efforts to find the sources of pollution and clean-up pollution.

Bob Brehm, CEO of BUGS, comments, "Cleaning up pollution is a worldwide problem and we all need to learn about how to harness good microbes to make the world a better place now and in the future. The MikeyMicrobe.com website has become a very popular site with many users around the world and has become a great learning and sales tool for teaching all walks of people in Mexico and elsewhere the benefits of cleaning up their environment using safe biotechnology, local labor resources and sound engineering practices. These lessons, as simple and far reaching as they are, have made a major impact with government officials who now see the benefits of using BUGS' products and services for a cleaner, healthier future for the people of Mexico."

QQK will begin production in January and expected to ship initial orders during the first quarter of 2008.

Brehm commented, “Francis has an uncanny way of getting things done when others can’t and his appointment as General Manager for QQK will ensure we get the products built and out the door on time and prepare for new future orders. QQK intends to take an active role with the Somerset-Pulaski County Economic Development Foundation and Francis has already met with the Executive Director to outline our growth plans and investigate new business opportunities for manufacturing and USM Capital financing services.”

SSWM Reorganizes for Manufacturing Operations
- Company to Provide Shelters for Emergency Relief, Disaster Response, Mail Screening -

Robert Brehm, CEO of Sub Surface Waste Management of Delaware, Inc. (OTCBB: SSWM), announced today that the company will begin production in January 2008 of modular mail screening facilities, under a new subsidiary named Quick Quarters Kentucky, Inc. (QQK) which recently received an initial $125,000 purchase order for five mail screening facilities to be manufactured by QQK in Somerset Kentucky. SSWM is reorganizing its operations to concentrate on new business opportunities for state and federal government applications where high quality, cost effective temporary structures are needed.

Brehm commented about the change in business direction, “After gaining many years of experience in the environmental cleanup business, we determined that the business opportunities provided by the products of QQK and the favorable economic conditions in and around Somerset Kentucky, were far superior to the continuation of the prior business. Therefore SSWM is reorganizing its personnel and resources and will be recapitalizing and renaming the company to reestablish future shareholder growth as a manufacturer of high quality, cost effective temporary structures.”

Brehm commented, “We are delighted to receive the initial order for five mail screening facilities. We will begin manufacturing operations in January and plan to deliver the initial order during the first quarter 2008 while we ramp up for expected future orders for additional mail screening rooms, modular class rooms and other temporary structures. The prior work done by QQK for FEMA provided much experience in developing structures needed in emergency disaster situations and this expertise has not gone unnoticed by the U.S. Government as evidenced by the current order. With over 500 U.S. embassy-like locations requiring mail screening facilities, there may be a very viable and expanding worldwide market for our products.”

SSWM Issues LOI to Acquire BUGS Technology
- Company Vertically Integrating Engineering Services, Biotechnology and Manufacturing -

Robert Brehm, CEO of Sub Surface Waste Management of Delaware, Inc. (OTCBB:SSWM), announced today that the company has issued a Letter of Intent and term sheet for the acquisition of the XyclonyX, the biotechnology subsidiary of U.S. Microbics, Inc., (OTCBB:BUGS), and the assets of West Coast Fermentation Center, an affiliated manufacturing subsidiary. The acquisition includes the patent licenses, proprietary culture collection, field application knowledge base, and the manufacturing know-how and assets. The acquisition vertical integrates the field engineering services of SSWM with the patents, application and manufacturing technology.

Under the terms of the LOI, SSWM would acquire 100% of the stock of XyclonyX and it would become a wholly owned subsidiary of SSWM. The purchase price is subject to final due diligence and Board approval, but both parties have agreed to go forward with the transaction under a reorganization plan for U.S. Microbics and SSWM. The technology in XyclonyX includes the remediation technology used by SSWM and other applications including wastewater treatment, activated carbon filtration technology patents and agricultural growth enhancement technology using the Bi-Agra™ product line. Also included in the sale are the fermentation assets for growth of the microbes used in the various application formulations.

Brehm stated, "We are consolidating the remediation service expertise of SSWM and the proprietary remediation technology, associated patents and manufacturing capability under a single operational entity. As U.S. Microbics transforms itself into an environmental capital company, SSWM will become a vertically integrated environmental technology company that can create the products used to deliver the better-faster-cheaper services for our clients. The combination of technology with services should reduce expenses and streamline operations in 2008 and beyond."
