Bullzi Security Inc. Releases PCI eLearning Course
LAKE MARY, FL, Sep 06, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Bullzi Security Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BLLZ), a leading converged security provider, has released its new, eLearning course on the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standard. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a compliance initiative agreed upon by the payment card industry and defines six control objectives for merchants and service providers that handle credit card information. The PCI Security Standards Council is an open global forum for the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for account data protection. The organization was founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa International.
Michael Welch, co-founder and Sr. Vice President of Bullzi Security, stated, "Due to the increased threat of identity theft, along with the continued rash of high-profile security breaches, the PCI DSS has been gaining momentum over the past year. While not exclusively defined in the standard, security education is a key component of the PCI DSS. Employees are the weakest link in the security infrastructure and education is the only effective means to increase awareness of the potential threat and to inform employee and contractors about their obligation in protecting sensitive account data."
Thomas Welch, co-founder and President of Bullzi Security, also stated, "Historically, we've seen the financial and insurance industry leading the way when it comes to security awareness training, but because of the PCI standard, we're starting to see other industry segments, such as the retail industry, engage us for their security education needs. Bullzi's Web-based Information Security Education (WISE) series is a compilation of educational programs that address 'best security' practices. WISE helps clients to meet regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Gramm-Leech-Bliley Act (GLBA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) CIP Standard, as well as the PCI DSS."
