Company Background Advance Technologies traces our roots back to military night vision systems of the 1970-1990 eras. These systems were very expensive, and the technology was classified and strictly controlled. In the early ‘90s the US government issued a commodity jurisdiction classified of IR technologies that allowed commercial applications, but maintains a tight over-sight control through ITAR (International Traffic Arms Regulations).
Advance Technologies Inc. was founded in 1992 (original name Infrared Systems International). The initial project was Enhanced Vision. After working with several corporations, ATI signed an exclusive agreement with Kollsman in 1995, and a final licensing agreement in 1997.
In the years following the EVS program ATI has been able to develop a specific and well defined business model that guides our new business activity. This model recognizes are strengths, the application and adaptation of Infrared Technology to perform specific useful functions. We also recognize that a new product, into a new market, performing a new function, to satisfy an unrecognized need is about as risky as one can get. Therefore our business model requires a strategic partner that is already in the intended field of market application.
The strategic partner validates the market and the need. They have name recognition and intra-structure. The start-up costs are minimized and time to market is reduced. We have contained our risks, minimized our investment, and avoided the potential for adverse events. The only downside is the control of the project transfers to the strategic partner.

Products & Services The commercial application of Infrared Imaging technology has soared in the twenty-first century. This has been the result of two events. First, the US government classified night vision systems as “dual use” technology, thus freeing the technology for commercial markets. And secondly, tremendous technical strides for higher performance with lower and lower core technology cost. What was not available in the 1990’s has become both “do-able” and highly desirable for critical applications.
Our product lines are all well positioned with “strategy partners” in place and taking the lead in marketing and sales. As a result we have turned our attention to our next project, Infrared Security System.

The Kollsman All Weather Window® EVS has been developed to improve the capability for commercial, business and military aircraft to execute precision approaches and safely land in fog, rain, snow, and other reduced visibility conditions thereby reducing CFIT accidents. The Kollsman All Weather Window® EVS also provides improved situational awareness during ground operations aiding in runway incursion accident reductions.
The Kollsman All Weather Window® Enhanced Vision System received an STC for EVS on the Gulfstream GV business jet in September 2001 and GIV on December 2002. Production is now occurring. Gulfstream offers the EVS as an option for their G-300, G-400, G-500, G-V, and G-IVSP aircraft. The All Weather Window® is also standard equipment on Gulfstream's GV-SP (G-550) and G-450 aircraft. Additionally, Kollsman has been selected by FedEx to equip their wide body fleet with the EVS. Those aircraft include Airbus A300s and A310s, and Boeing MD-11s and MD-10s and are due in service in 2007.
