I think you could have found a better way of putting that. That seems a little glib. But yes, we are all fortunate to be doing what we do. I think we take our day to day lives, and freedom to easily. Every day I turn on the news another soldier dies. Very tragic indeed. Anyway, great thread Holdem-or-foldem.

We in this country owe a great debt of gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives so that we could live free. We can start to pay that debt by not forgetting, by remembering what they did and what they stood for.
Listen to these words by Charles M. Province:
"It is the Soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us Freedom of the Press. It is the Soldier, not the poet, Who has given us Freedom of Speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the Freedom to demonstrate. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a fair trial; And it is the Soldier--who salutes the flag, Who serves the flag, and Whose coffin is draped by the flag-- Who allows the protester to burn the flag."
Please join me in a moment of silence as we all remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice

I'm not going to assume what your post meant, but:
Absolutely I meant our service men and women where ever they may be, and the sacrifices they have made for us. So the less fortunate I mentioned would include the family members of our service men and women.
A care package, card, gift certificate for dinner, etc. We all have some connection in one way or another to a member of the armed forces.
God bless all, and have a safe holiday!

Oh, ok, wasn't sure what you meant by less fortunate. It sounded like you were talking about poor people, not service people and their families as well as the service men and women killed in action. No biggy, obviously a biggie to Bob as he seemed to delete my post.
