Hey guys...

I thought I'd post this topic because I didnt see any similar one posted.
Anyway,
Ethanol is the play for this summer. With gas at 60-70/barrel all alternative energy stocks are going to be huge but ethanol is the front runner and has been mentioned in the State of the Union Adress. Companies are scrambling to get a piece of this market and even if the stocks run of hype alone, it still means $$$ for us.

I am trying to DD as many of these stocks as possible so that I can take full advantage of this hot sector. So here is everyone's chance to pump their favorite ethanol or alternative energy stocks.

DO NOT JUST POST THE SYMBOL!!!

Give solid DD, what it actually is involved with, ie. biogas, ethanol, etc. Give as much info as possible. I will be posting stocks as I DD them.

Ethanol fuel for internal combustion engines, either alone or in combination with other fuels as an oxygenate, is a valuable sustainable energy resource. This chemical derived from crops offers potential environmental and long-term economical advantages over fossil fuel.

Both ethanol and methanol are candidate fuels. While each can be obtained from petroleum or natural gas, ethanol may be the most viable because it is a renewable resource, readily obtained from sugar or starch in crops such as maize and sugarcane. Since ethanol occurs in nature whenever yeast combines with a sugar solution such as overripe fruit, most organisms have evolved some tolerance to ethanol, whereas methanol is toxic. When 10% alcohol fuel is mixed into gasoline (or petrol), the result is known as gasohol or E10. A mixture of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline is known as E85. Other formulations involve butanol, which can also be produced by fermentation of certain plants such as rice. Sometimes ethanol is called "bioethanol".

Ethanol is also increasingly used as an oxygenate for gasoline, as a replacement for MTBE, the latter chemical being responsible for considerable groundwater and soil contamination.

Ethanol fuel in the United States

One criticism of ethanol usage in the United States is its availability. Roughly 600 gas stations, out of a total of 200,000 carry E85 pumps. If a wide adoption strategy were to be implemented, far greater availability would have to come to fruition. Another aspect of its availability is that it is currently only available in the relatively sparsely populated midwest, where the ethanol is refined. As of April 12, 2006 in the US, there are 4485.9 million gallons per year capacity for ethanol production with capacity of 2169.5 million gallons per year under construction.

Ethanol fuel in the Midwest

The so-called corn belt in the Midwestern United States produces large amounts of corn. Sugars from this corn are used to make ethanol. Minnesota has pioneered the use of ethanol fuel mixes in the United States, and currently it is the only state in the U.S. in which all gasoline mixes must have at least 10% ethanol (90% gasoline) by volume. Laws have been passed which mandate a 20% mix in all gasoline in the state by 2013. There are almost 600 gas stations in the United States that serve E85 (almost 200 in Minnesota alone), which is a fuel mix of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.

INSQ (INSEQ CORPORATION)

Overview:
• Nature of business: Seeks to help companies reduce waste and lessen their need for natural resources. The company does this through several subsidiaries.
o Warnecke Design Services: Produces processing equipment for companies. Currently a growth plan is in place to produce equipment for ethanol companies.
o Air Cycle: Recycles fluorescent bulbs, batteries, etc by crushing them down and filling them into 55 gallon tubs.
o INSEQ, also acquired a company that hold patents rights to a procedure to separate plastics from mixed plastic. This company has not produced any revenue yet but there are plans to further develop it.
o There is little or no niche in the ethanol industry as far as I can see. Look for further development of WDS.

VRDM
Overview:

Veridium Corporation, through its subsidiaries, provides various waste management services to industrial organizations in the United States. Its services include environmental services, such as transportation, distribution, recycling, and disposal services specific to the materials and processes for various industrial wastes; recycling metal-bearing and chemical hazardous wastes; and field services, which include remedial, industrial cleaning, and other related services to its clients at their sites and facilities. The company offers its services through four service centers located in Paterson, New Jersey; Sandwich and Milford, Massachusetts; and Plainville, Connecticut. Veridium Corporation, formerly known as KBF Pollution Management, Inc., was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Paterson, New Jersey. Veridium Corporation is a subsidiary of GreenShift Corporation.

Veridium conducts all commercial activities through its subsidiary, Veridium Environmental Corporation ("VEC"). VEC, in turn, is the sole owner of ESD, the sole owner of Jones Environmental Services (North East), Inc., our Massachusetts-based RCRA Part B Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility ("TSDF") and Enviro-Safe Corporation ("ESC") our field services company. Until September 2005 an additional subsidiary, Veridium Recovery Systems, Inc. ("VRS"), carried on business through its two subsidiaries: American Metals Recovery, Corp. ("AMRC"), our discontinued New Jersey recycling operation, and MRTC, our discontinued transportation company.

On January 22, 2006, Veridium Corporation (VRDM") acquired 100% of the stock of GreenShift Industrial Design Corporation (GIDC") and Tornado Trash Corporation ("TTC") from GreenShift Corporation ("GreenShift") in return for 10% of the fully diluted stock in Veridium. These acquisitions are part of the Veridium's plans to revitalize its industrial waste recycling business model following Veridium's discontinuance during 2005 of the AMRC and MRTC operations.

GIDC is a development stage company that focuses on the engineering and marketing of green innovations and processes that enhance manufacturing efficiencies improve resource utilization and minimize waste. GIDC's

Future Plans:

Our ambition is to restructure and revitalize Veridium's industrial waste recycling services on the basis of our planned provision of industrial design and technology transfer services based on the use of environmentally friendly technologies and applied engineering expertise to reduce waste at its source and to make it easier for people and businesses to recycle and reuse resources. As part of this plan, we are exploring options relative to the restructuring and recapitalization of our environmental management business.

Other:
Veridium currently has 49 full-time employees

Common stock, $0.001 par value, 250,000,000 authorized;
76,777,778 shares issued and outstanding

Bad stuff:

The accompanying consolidated financial statements have been prepared assuming that the Company will continue as a going concern. The Company incurred a loss of $5,697,858 for the year ended December 31, 2005. As of December 31, 2005 the Company had $334,128 in cash, and current liabilities exceeded current assets by $6,627,898. These matters raise substantial doubt about the Company's ability to continue as a going concern.

Veridium is currently in default on some of its debt, which could result in one or more of the Company's creditors exercising their rights upon default, which could in turn significantly impair the Company's ability to operate

This is great.

This is the kind of industry that get's consolidated quickly. If so, many of these stocks pps's could be real winners, even if the companies fundamentals are lacking.

I went with Bldv based on a few recommendations and also some of the forward looking statements from the company and also their plan of action in this article.
It has recently picked up volume
Blue Diamond Ventures Inc. (Other OTC:BLDV.PK - News) announced today it plans to build ethanol and bio diesel facilities in Oklahoma and Belize. The company has been in discussion with large refining and supply companies offering to purchase its energy futures.

"As nature's partner, we are committed to addressing the world's energy shortages by utilizing alternative fuels made from renewable resources," said Blue Diamond Chairman and CEO John Quincey Moaning, noting the company plans to develop processing technologies and methods to increase yields from feed stocks.

Blue Diamond plans to initially construct a 3.5 million gallon per year (MGY) ethanol facility and a 5 million gallon per year (MGY) bio-diesel facility in Belize. The company anticipates using sugar cane and molasses as the main feed stock for the ethanol. The bio-diesel will be manufactured from vegetable oils such as soy beans, canola and palm and from animal fats processed at Blue Diamond's facilities.

Ethanol works very well not only as an additive to gasoline, but also a gasoline replacement, Moaning said. Currently, gasoline is mixed with a product called Methyl Tertiary Ethyl Butyl (MTBE) on a 90% gasoline and 10% MTBE mixture. The MTBE is an oxygenate for gasoline, and acts in a manner in which octane is boosted in gasoline to prevent engine knocking and provide gasoline efficiency.

Moaning envisions expanding the facility to 50 million (MGY), as Belizean farmers grow more sugar cane in anticipation of selling it to the ethanol facility.

About Blue Diamond Venutres, Inc.:

Blue Diamond Ventures, Inc. is an agriculture, bio fuels and commercial development company with operations in Belize and the U.S. The company recently announced plans to break ground this year on a million dollar goat processing facility in Belize and aggressively market the world's most eaten meat throughout the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean. Blue Diamond will utilize 3,000 acres in Belize and 1,200 acres in Oklahoma for a goat ranch, research center and processing facility. Local farmers in Belize and Oklahoma, under a cooperative agreement with Blue Diamond Ventures, will raise the goats and process them at the company's facilities. Blue Diamond's business plan includes ethanol production, tilapia and shrimp aqua farming and raising thousands of acres of soybeans. The company is currently completing an audit to get listed on the NASDAQ Bulletin Board.

Hey 257, great thread. GSHF, Greenshields is very interesting. They themselves are not involved directly in ethanol. They clean up and develop environmentally contaminated properties. www.thegreenworks.com
I dont have any financials, but the biggest attraction of this company is that they own 70% of Veridium and 80% of INSEQ.
Take a look.

ACMG - Huge profits today!

http://www.alcartechnologies.com/EN/

Press Release Source: The Alcar Group

Alcar Chemicals Group's Proprietary EnviroEnergy Technology Receives Independent Evaluation at $85 Million USD
Thursday April 20, 9:00 am ET

MONTREAL--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 20, 2006 -- Alcar Chemical Group Inc. (Other OTC:ACMG.PK - News) announces today the completion of an independent evaluation of its proprietary technology to produce plastic raw materials, Ethanol and Bio-Diesel based on renewable resources. The independent evaluation was performed by CLD and they have established the value at $85 million USD, translating into approximately $0.90 per share on a fully diluted basis.

"ACMG's proprietary technology represents today's most economical and advanced manufacturing process for plastic raw materials, ethanol and bio-diesel," said Alexander Cavasin, President and CEO of ACMG. "The yield output of our process alone will create immediate impact in our industry and we expect many more large multi-nationals to be adopting and licensing our technology over the coming months," further added Mr. Cavasin.

The proprietary technology developed by ACMG is a process, based on renewable natural resources, where it can use inexpensive non-food-crop and generic organic waste as feedstock, to produce plastic raw materials, ethanol and bio-diesel. ACMG's Process significantly reduces production cost and obtains yield rates that are significantly higher than the industry standard.

About The Alcar Group

The Alcar Group represents a significant market opportunity due to a serious worldwide supply shortage of raw materials for polymers, a growing shortage estimated to reach over 6 million tons in 2006. The market price for the materials in question vary between $1,000 and $3,000 per metric ton and the Alcar Group has developed a patented process and bioreactor which allow production at costs savings of up to 40% when compared to current production methods, translating in gross margins of over 50%. With the planned expansion, the AGI production process will reach a total capacity of 120,000 tons annually of economical and environmentally friendly materials for polymers.

The Alcar Group Inc. (AGI) develops innovative, patented methods for petroleum-independent fuel and plastics resin production (e.g. polyurethane) that significantly improve the offerings of its customers in the automotive, building products and recreational sectors. AGI operates three divisions, Alcar Advanced Materials Corp., which manufactures and distributes various proprietary non-petroleum-based plastics and coating systems, Alcar Advanced Energy Systems Corp., which will manufacture and distribute high-purity non-petroleum-based ethanol and diesel fuels and Alcar R&D, an advanced materials research and development center.

Yea I just saw that, but as I looked into their 10k i didnt see anything related to ethanol, maybe I skipped over it. Bottom line is any compnay that as little breathes the word ethanol is going to run like hell.

The hard part is figuring out when to buy because these could run at any time. Gas news, ethanol mentioned in the news could send these off quickly. If you look at all their charts they all ran at relatively the same time (beginning of April).

I just really think that if we collectively do research and shre it with each other, we can make a lot of cash this summer, while gas prices are high. So in saying that I am going to be doing seriously DD over the weekend and into next week on all 'green' stocks because the trend is catching on. ANything Alt. Energy is in play here so any DD is helpful. Everyone contribute and we can make some cash.

Hey maybe Ralph Nader will win the next election!

Anyone got any good ethanol/alt. energy picks for monday? Here are a few I found that their charts are setting up good for another run...

ASRNF -- Provider of fuel cells. Just made a big run, chart now looks set up for another.

IESV -- RSI is low and looks like it could breakout at any point. DD is above. Major Expansion of biogas plant, look for news about that.

MHTX -- Don't know much about this company but they have some interesting projects going right now. I'll try to post some DD on it later.

INSQ -- Should be a possible play all week. I'll be watching this closely, want to get on on tues. or wednesday. Expecting one or 2 more red days, then hoping for another PR to launch this thing again.

BLDV -- Dont know much about it, but chart looks ready for a run. Theres a thread on it.

If anyone has any picks for the week, post them.
