XsunX Achieves Improved Solar Cell Efficiency Tuesday February 14, 2:02 pm ET
ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Feb. 14, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- XsunX, Inc. (OTC BB:XSNX.OB - News), developer of Power Glass(tm) -- an innovative solar technology that is intended to allow glass windows to produce electricity from the power of the sun, announced today that continued product development success has produced improved solar cell efficiencies. This represents a milestone for the Company in efforts under its Phase III development program to perfect a scalable manufacturing method for large area solar cells on inexpensive thin film plastics. The efficiency improvements were the result of efforts to increase the band gap properties of the cell structure. An increase to the band gap properties allows the cell to capture and convert a larger portion of the available solar energy into electricity. Another area of improvement associated with this effort was the increase of the open circuit voltage capabilities of the solar cell structure. Combined, these improvements produced thinner, more transparent cell structures than previous base lines, and conversion efficiencies of 5% on glass in lab tests. The Company is now working to transfer these results into its large area thin film cells on flexible plastics.

(OTC BB:XSNX.OB - News), developer of Power Glass(r) -- an innovative solar technology that is intended to allow glass windows to produce electricity from the power of the sun, today announced the expansion of its development team to include additional senior scientists specializing in nano-crystalline thin-film technology. The expansion of the development team comes as the Company prepares to complete the addition of nano-crystalline development chambers to existing R&D systems as part of the development of a new hybrid solar-cell design employing a patent pending 4-terminal approach. The design combines aspects of the Company's Power Glass thin-film technology with that of nano-crystalline solar-cell design, which the Company believes holds the promise of lower cost, higher-efficiency, flexible and lighter-weight solar cells. In the development of both Power Glass and the new nano-crystalline solar technologies, the Company is responding to the dramatically growing opportunity for thin-film solutions to expanding energy demands. A recent study by NanoMarkets, a Virginia-based research firm, outlined the potential U.S. market for thin films to approach $2.3 billion by 2011. A large portion of the market is expected to go to devices based on amorphous silicon, the XsunX specialty, with additional opportunities in building-integrated systems that represent the principal XsunX market.

I didn't catch it that low...but it was low .30...to bad I didn't know such a short time ago how high it would go so quickly...but it's a great swing/daytrade for now...
