New Life Scientific and CureLab, Inc. Identify Their First Target -- Anti Fungal Compound Development 10/14/05
FREEHOLD, N.J., Oct 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- New Life Scientific, Inc. (OTCBB:NWLF) today announced that as part of the Agreement with CureLab, Inc. both companies identified an anti-infective compound to be jointly developed. This is a new chemical entity protected by US patent 6,730,787 issued May 4, 2004. The claimed anti-infective activities include antiviral, immunostimulating (interferon inducer), and antibacterial (Chlamydia, Mycobacterium tuberculosis). The compound also has hepatoprotective and analgesic properties.
Of greatest interest are antiviral properties for infections associated with decreased immunologic response and those responding to interferon treatment. Other potential uses will also be considered.
CureLab, Inc has expertise in the development of pharmaceutical and biotech products, and is the holder of licenses and patents for various pharmaceutical compounds, bio-products and vaccines.
