I don't know, but I have a follow up question. Wouldn't the MMs automatically exchange each other within a minute?

It's usually a good sign.

It means that the ask and bid requests are even.

all it means one2watch is that someboy is either bidding or asking the same price, but the MM have not filled the orders yet...nothing major...just like how it shows...the spread is the same and within time the one order will be filled (either bid at the ask) or (ask at the bid)....

the "good sign" would depend on whether they brought the ask down or the bid up.

There is another possible reason. At this price range the stock can actually trade in the 5th digit. But most streamers and quote programs can not post the 5th digit so they round the number to the nearest 4th digit.

So if a stock is trading at bid .00166 to ask .00174 it would round to a to bid .0017 ask .0017 on the streamer.

Not that this happened but its another possibility. It also could mean that a MM is trying to change direction of the pps.
