Hey Now All!

Quick question...

Now I do know that a "Q" on the end of a ticker
symbol means bankruptcy.

BUT...
When a stock, that you own, gets a "Q" on the end
of their ticker symbol what happens to your (non "Q") shares?

Also, if you buy into a "Q" stock, what happens
to your shares when/if the company comes out of
bankruptcy and there is no more "Q"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your non q become Q. Most times the stock becomes worthless.

Try asking these kind of questions in the General thread.

when the company emerges from bankruptcy they will sometimes issue a small number of shares to current share holders via an r/s those shares are often restricted for a period of time. more often than not after bankruptcy all your shares will be cancelled. you get nothing.

So basically if a stock gets a "Q", then its
kinda like a symbol change in that I keep my
shares.

And if a stock looses the "Q", I loose my shares,
Right?

Thank You for your help Bob Frey and madmoney.

if a stock get a q it means they have filed for bankruptcy and the price will usualy drop dramaticaly 70-90% is very possible, depends on the company. if its a pink its probably dead, read the press release if you can find one to see how bad it is. you may consider selling while you can, however that is YOUR decision, dont take my advise as i am not offering any, just trying to explain how this MAY play out. it all depends on the company. do some research. good luck.
