Paid, Inc. Reports Second Quarter 2004 Earnings Results
Tuesday August 17, 10:56 am ET
Gross Margins Increase 17%, Operating Expenses Decrease

WORCESTER, Mass., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Paid, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PAYD - News) today released its second quarter earnings results for 2004, posting gross revenues of $363,304, 97% of which is directly attributable to sales of the Company's own products and fees from buyers and sellers through the Paid's Rotman Auction operations. Although this revenue figure constitutes a decrease in sales over the same period last year, the Company produced approximately $26,800 more gross margin dollars due to a gross margin percentage that was 17% higher than Q2 2003.

Total operating expenses for Q2 2004 were approximately $934,600, compared to $1,027,500 for the same period last year, a decrease of $92,900. Sales, general, and administrative ("SG&A") expenses for Q2 2004 were approximately $705,900, compared to $853,200 for the same period in 2003, a reduction of $147,300. This expense savings was due to decreases in depreciation and amortization of $49,200, which was the result of certain assets becoming fully depreciated during 2004, a lowering of professional fees by $89,200, and a payroll savings of $21,000.

The costs associated with planning, maintaining, and operating the Company's web sites increased by about $54,400 over the second quarter of 2003, although the increase for the first 6 months of 2004 was only $19,400 over 2003. This second quarter increase in web site expenses was mainly due to increases in payroll of $28,200, consulting of $60,100, and computer expenses of $14,800, offset by a decrease in depreciation of $17,800.

"We've created a much leaner, more efficient corporate operations," said Greg Rotman, CEO of Paid, Inc. "In Q2 2004, we significantly decreased our operating expenses by 9% and, as a result of more strategic purchasing and an effort to list product more selectively, from both a product and timing perspective, gross margin percentages increased by approximately 17% compared to those in the Q2 of 2003. This improvement in gross margin percentage, coupled with approximately $88,400 lower revenues from sales of Company-owned product during those same periods resulted in approximately $26,800 more gross margin dollars compared to Q2 3003."

"As we've launched a greater number of celebrity web sites, we're becoming more efficient in our development of them," Rotman added. "After the initial development and launch period, our workload related to each site drops to a much lower level, reducing our related staffing expenses. It is at this point that the celebrity web sites begin generating revenue streams from the sales of the in-kind autographed collectibles that celebrities provide to Rotman Auction in exchange for the creation and hosting of the web site and from the sports memorabilia sold through the celebrities' sites. We anticipate this unique strategy will lead to increased gross margins over the long term."

To augment their business of selling autographed sports memorabilia and managing celebrity signing events, in Q2 2004 the Company launched its Celebrity Services division that will provide an expanded range of services for celebrities, ranging from the creating of personal web sites for professional athletes, to fan club management, merchandise fulfillment, special event ticket packages, signing event management and more.

"Creating web sites for celebrities is a natural, low-cost extension of our business that continues to demonstrate tremendous potential," said Greg Rotman, CEO of Paid, Inc. "Thanks to our original business of selling sports memorabilia online, we already had the in-house expertise in web site development and the experience of selling via the web to sports fans. We're now leveraging these resources to expand into additional areas, such as fan club management, premium ticket packages and merchandise fulfillment for the music, entertainment and sports industries, which can potentially create millions of dollars in additional revenue."

Paid, Inc. currently has more than 20 celebrity web sites designed and launched. The Company anticipates that this number will double in the near future due to the steadily increasing demand for this specialized service.

"We've seen an explosion of interest in personal web sites for athletes and are getting numerous referrals due to the success of the sites we've already created," said Rob Riggieri, Director of Celebrity Services for Paid, Inc. "The merchandise stores on the celebrity web sites we are creating attract buyers from all over the world. We will be integrating our Paid(TM) shipping calculator and shopping cart software that utilizes our patent- pending technologies onto these e-commerce sites to streamline the online shopping and fulfillment processes."

By reducing long-term debt, the Company has also strengthened its asset position. As of June 30, 2004, the outstanding balance on the $3,000,000 note was $702,872.

The Company realized a net loss for Q2 2004 of approximately $864,700, or $ .01 per share, compared to a loss of $937,600, or $ .01 per share, for Q2 2003.

For the six months ended June 30, 2004, gross margin percentages were 7% higher than in the same period of 2003. Although sales of Company-owned products were lower by approximately $125,600, this increase in margin resulted in comparable gross dollar margins for both periods. Revenue for the first 6 months of 2004 was $749,300, 98% of which was due to sales of the Company's own product and fees obtained from buyers and sellers through the Rotman Auction operations. This revenue figure represents a decrease of approximately $137,800 or 16% over the same period in 2003, which posted revenues of $887,100. These reduced sales levels are the result of a strategic management decision to accumulate autograph memorabilia in order to position the company to enter into additional distribution channels and the lower availability of product at attractive prices. The Company plans to actively pursue consignment services which it expects will create an influx of high- quality merchandise, while freeing up the time and financial resources previously spent tracking down and purchasing these types of products.

Operating expenses for the six months ended June 30, 2004 were approximately $1,842,400, compared to $2,014,100 for the same period in 2003, a decrease of $171,700. The Company trimmed $191,200 off of SG&A costs, reducing them from $1,657,200 in 2003 to approximately $1,466,000 in 2004. The costs associated with planning, maintaining, and operating the web sites increased by about $19,400 during these same periods.

WORCESTER, Mass., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dallas Cowboys' starting linebacker Dat Nguyen today became one of the first team members to launch an official personal web site, http://www.datnguyen59.com, through the Paid, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PAYD - News) Celebrity Services division. As the first Vietnamese-American professional NFL player, Nguyen is well-known for being one of the most proficient tacklers in the history of Dallas professional football, bulldozing a straight path to success. He was also always tagged as being undersized but his aggressive style and tremendous heart have made that a non-issue in his transition from college to the pros.

Playing under legendary coach Bill Parcells, Nguyen was part of the NFL's #1 ranked defense in 2003. With 121 tackles during the 2003 football season alone, Nguyen has captured both the public's attention and imagination. As a result, he has a rapidly growing base of fans who are hungry for more details about his life and career. To create a web site that gives his fans exactly what they want, Nguyen chose to work with Paid, Inc. through his marketing company, Celebrity Marketing Inc. Now live, Nguyen's web site enables one-to- one communication with his fans, allowing him to answer their questions directly via email. Biographical information, career statistics, exclusive interviews, fan club information, photographs, team news, season schedules, and FAQs are also featured on Nguyen's professionally designed site. For a limited time, fans will receive $10 off on all merchandise on Nguyen's site as part of the web site launch.

Nguyen is all about firsts. Besides being one of the first Dallas Cowboys to launch an official personal web site, Nguyen was the first freshman in Texas A&M history to lead his team in tackles with 94. He went on to set Texas A&M career records for 517 tackles and 51 consecutive starts. The son of Vietnamese immigrants, Nguyen received the prestigious Lombardi and Bednarik awards and was the consensus All-American Linebacker as a Texas A&M senior in 1998. Ever since the Dallas Cowboys drafted him in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft, not only has Nguyen had impressive statistics but he is a linebacker Pro Bowl alternate and has been on the Pro Bowl short list for the last three years.

Committed to keeping his web site content as fresh and exciting as his games, this trend-setting middle linebacker will provide exclusive interviews on his site and progress reports on his autobiography that he is currently writing.

San Diego Chargers' Quarterback Doug Flutie Charges Forward with His Personal Web Site, Designed by Paid, Inc.
Monday October 4, 9:15 am ET

WORCESTER, Mass., and SAN DIEGO, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- San Diego Chargers' quarterback and long time fan favorite Doug Flutie today launched his first official personal web site, http://www.dougflutie7.com, through the Paid, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PAYD - News) Celebrity Services division. A 19-year veteran of professional football, Flutie boasts an eight-year Canadian Football League (CFL) quarterback career that ranks as one of the most impressive in CFL history. Because NFL and CFL followers can't seem to get enough of this football legend, who has played for several NFL teams, including the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Chicago Bears, Flutie decided the time was right to create an entertaining yet informative personal web site as a 'thank you' to his large and dedicated fan base.

One of Flutie's goals was to design and launch a highly interactive, professional web site as riveting and colorful as his football career. To help him accomplish this, he collaborated with Paid, Inc.'s Celebrity Services division, which his agent, Kristin Kuliga, has recently been hired to lead. Created with Flash elements, Flutie's bold, multimedia-driven site features an interactive career timeline and an engaging mix of biographical information, accolades and statistics, video clips and photographs, fan club details, and the latest Flutie and Chargers news.

As one of the NFL's most respected players, Flutie has demonstrated an unrivaled work ethic, a characteristic that is reflected by his web site's powerful content and design. In 2003, at the age of 41, Flutie became the fifth oldest quarterback ever to start an NFL game and the first player older than 40 to score two rushing touchdowns in one game. He also won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award four times. Over the span of his two- decade-long professional football career, Flutie became one of only six players ever to throw for more than 57,874 yards. He most recently came into the game on September 19th in the 4th quarter, drove down the field and ran it in for a touchdown.

Transcending the glitz and hype that dominate many celebrity web sites, Flutie's site strongly promotes his charitable mission to educate, support, and financially assist families living with the challenges of childhood autism through the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. Since 1998, when Doug and his wife Laurie started "Dougie's Team" to honor their son Doug Jr., who suffers from autism, the Fluties have helped raise more than $5 million for autism through donations, fundraisers, endorsement promotions, and sales of Flutie-themed items.

For athletes and ambitious fans alike, Flutie's very own training exercise routines are available on his web site. Fans also can take part in weekly football polls and trivia quizzes, pick their favorite "Doug Flutie"-themed PC desktop wallpaper, and shop at Flutie's online store, which carries personally autographed NFL footballs, mini-helmets, photos, and jerseys. In the future, the site will feature downloadable audio files containing music played by Flutie's own band, "The Flutie Gang." Flutie plays the drums and was voted by fans as the best performance on ABC Monday Night Football's special feature entitled "Monday Night at the Mic."

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20041014/NYTH072 )
"We owe our success to the fans who have supported us through the years," AEROSMITH said in a joint statement. Under the terms of the contract, the Celebrity Services division of Paid, Inc. will seamlessly assume responsibility for AF1's promotional programs and its web site (http://www.aeroforceone.com). "Aerosmith has one of the largest fan clubs of any music group, and we're tremendously excited about the opportunity to put our proven expertise to work for the band and its fans," said Greg Rotman, CEO of Paid, Inc. "We share a vision for taking the fan experience to new levels. We're developing unique velvet rope packages, special events and competitions exclusively for fan club members that will blow their minds. Aerosmith 'Battle of the Bands' competitions judged by a representative from the band, a series of fan club member parties across the country, online treasure hunts and a virtual museum of archived Aerosmith memorabilia provided by the fans are just a few of the ideas that we anticipate introducing. This is a win-win-win situation for Aerosmith, Paid, Inc. and fans, as all benefit from improved customer service and fulfillment and a broader array of product and event package offerings."

The contract with Aerosmith marks a milestone in the execution of Paid's previously announced strategy of expanding its Celebrity Services division capabilities into the music and entertainment industries. With the significant expansions planned for the fan club and the addition of the online merchandising opportunities enabled by Paid's unique ecommerce business model, Paid seeks to achieve gross revenues upward of $6,000,000 to $10,000,000 in a touring year. Revenues in a non-touring year are expected to be lower.

Among the newly planned services creating additional revenue are expanded "Velvet Rope" experiences, travel packages and new programs and events. For example, with a premium "Velvet Rope" package purchase, Paid anticipates fans will be treated to special backstage tours at concerts; attend VIP pre- or post- concert events; and receive upgraded concert seats and/or upgraded travel packages or other benefits. Paid also is proposing expanded merchandising programs to include new limited-edition memorabilia with unique items added based on fans' suggestions. The AF1 web site also will offer live chats, message boards and games. An AF1 Affinity Fan Card also is being planned with real dollars off at the AF1 online store and discounts at other vendors.

"Aerosmith fans are incredibly loyal and supportive of the band and we believe that they should be treated with the utmost respect and care," said Greg Rotman. "We believe our investment to reach out to these long-time fans will build an invaluable level of trust between Paid and Aerosmith's fans."

Multi-faceted Contract Includes New Revenue Streams WORCESTER, Mass. - PRNewswire-FirstCall - Oct. 14
WORCESTER, Mass., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Paid, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PAYD) a cutting-edge developer of celebrity web sites and services and ecommerce software, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Aerosmith's holding company to manage all aspects of the band's official fan club, Aero Force One, also known as AF1. The two-year contract is valued between $6,000,000 to $10,000,000 in gross revenues, pending the band's touring schedule. It includes new revenue streams benefiting Paid, Inc., and an equity provision for Aerosmith band members.

"We owe our success to the fans who have supported us through the years," AEROSMITH said in a joint statement. "We spent a great deal of time and effort to select a fan club management company that can help reward our fans for their loyalty. After reviewing dozens of companies, we selected Paid, Inc.'s Celebrity Services division because we believe they demonstrate an appreciation for the relationships between celebrities and their fans. They have a true understanding of what types of activities, events and merchandise attract and satisfy Aerosmith fans and keep them coming back for more."

Under the terms of the contract, the Celebrity Services division of Paid, Inc. will seamlessly assume responsibility for AF1's promotional programs and its web site (http://www.aeroforceone.com/). It will fully integrate fan- management services with Aerosmith's other affiliations, including the record label, radio sponsors and Internet partners.

In addition, Paid, Inc.'s Celebrity Services will create and market a wide variety of new, innovative ways to participate in the Aerosmith fan community experience. AF1's more than 120,000 registered fans -- and the approximately 21,000 fan club members -- will have access to exclusive event opportunities and online content, allowing fans to connect with AF1, the band and each other.

Aerosmith is finished, musically. In 1977, they played undercard to The Bee Gees in Sgt. Peppers. In their entire career, they only had ONE #1 chart position, worldwide.

Worldwide, they Bee Gees have had over 200 # 1 chart positions, and in 2001, Aerosmith was privledged to once again play undercard to The Bee Gees, in Dodger Stadium, to over 100,000 fans.
