Several years old, but still relevant. One interesting line to note for all the CMKX people out there:

"The ideal stock-fraud company has some whiz-bang new product that will excite investors... Also popular are gold mines in obscure locations..."

Some more good reading right here on Allstocks: http://www.allstocks.com/copia/html/the_basics_of_otcbb.html

How true!!! Brings up not so fond memories of CMKX, IBZT and possibly QBID. I am feeling stupid and depressed now. I think I will open a new bottle of Jack Daniels and head to the basement and drown my sorrows, after which if I am still depressed I shall end my troubles by jumping outta' th' basement window.

RobinO,

You should really post that Allstocks site over on the CMKX thread. I think it is very much needed there.

Name one penny stock company that is not a scam or does not have the characteristics of a scam company. Impossible. Play them for what they are. You are here to make money, not love.

Esteban,
Was directed at Robin-O, but would appreciate your opinion also. Did the Jack Daniels work?

Terry

Hi Terry,
I am fairly new to the sub-penny stocks, I have really taken a bath on the three I purchased, however it was an education and all education comes at a price.
From reading all the various post on Allstocks I have come to the conclusion that most of the folks who make money on the sub-pennys do it by daytrading, or at least by short term trading (2-4 days).
A lot of what we read on Allstocks is emotional opinion, much with out any facts. One must strive to seperate the B.S. from emotion.
QBID? I truly think its time has come, I would be surprised if Frank Olsen is the man to pull it off. This company could certainly use a good management team at this point and hopefully he will consider doing so.
IBZTE? Lies, more lies, promises, more promises and the stock is going to hell in a handbasket. No one can determing why the SEC is investigating the company officers.
CMKX?? Classic sub-penny. No revenue except from flooding the market with more worthless shares.
If you decide to play the sub-pennys, good luck and be careful.
Later,
Steve

p.s. Yup, the Jack Daniels worked great

QBID is on the air. Therefore it has a real and verifiable product. Time will tell how successful that product is, but it is not, by definition, a scam. I have high hopes.

Let's be careful there Robin with what you are hinting at...

"The ideal stock-fraud company has some whiz-bang new product that will excite investors"

Diamonds aren't new....and....

" ... Also popular are gold mines in obscure locations..."

We are in Saskatchewan, this might be obscure to you but I can drive there in about 5-6 hours.

Lets be impartial when we post things. By highlighting CMKX it makes you look a little bit shady. If you had said, "Everyone should have a read" and left it at that your post would of held more water.

Once again, QBID is on the air. Therefore it has a real and verifiable product. Time will tell how successful that product is, but it is not, by definition, a scam. I have high hopes.

Just looking,
I agree with you up to a point...If we can get advertisers and subscribers (income)in the next few months without a reverse split all well be good.

Esteban and JustLooking_
I'm already in QBID and IBZT(E), if it turns out to be only an education it will be an EXPENSIVE one! Got into IBZT about 3-4 months ago, just before the pps fell. It's amazing how great it all sounds when you first enter pennyland. Only got in QBIB in the 05s-04s so it won't be quite as costly as IBZT___which closed higher thas Q did today..... Go figure.....! Thanks for your responses and feedback, hope that both IBZT and Q fly!!!
Terry
P.S. Southern Comfort works well too!!

True statement, but I figured the people who really should be reading that kind of article are the same people who won't. Sometimes a little spoonfeeding is necessary. The Allstocks article has some interesting bits about the company's location and reporting status as well, but the part about mining operations jumped out at me as being particularly on target, considering everything I've read about CMKX...

Definitely a legitimate company, just not very well run. In the past, a mainstream gay media outlet tagged them for paying someone to write a highly positive, highly BS article in a CA paper for them, so I think at one point they definitely were on the shady side of things. However, they seem to be moving forward for real, although I don't think they have much of a chance of success. I'm thinking 1:100 or so that they pull it off and actually make something of themselves, and that's being generous. My reasoning is spread out over all the QBID threads over the last 7 months so I won't get into it here, as this isn't the right spot for it.

I've been following that thread but avoided posting in it because of the ridiculous treatment that anyone with a realistic/negative/dissenting opinion gets on this board. If I said anything I'd just have 100 kids calling me names and accusing me of being a basher working for the market makers.

I don't think it would do any good anyway since the people who bought into CMKX thinking they actually are looking for diamonds are a bit on the loopy side... An infant gorilla with a brain tumor could see that Urban has no intention of doing anything but take peoples' money. Daytrading, fine.. investing.. no. Good luck with your education efforts though. They'll learn some day

Oops.. double replying here.. but yeah, I realize CMKX doesn't fit into the 'new whizbang' product category, but that was just the lead in to the other half of the sentence...

In that case, I encourage you to drive out there and see what's going on. My guess is you'll find an empty field. A non-reporting Nevada-based corporation drilling for diamonds in Canada that has a share count that even the late Carl Sagan couldn't comprehend... I'll pass Good luck to you though...

Thanks RobinO,
I'm already in, but I have to admit that the photo of Frank was disconcerting to the quasi comfort level I had with the potential of this stock/marketing venture. Well 100:1 is alot better than the lottery, so I think we'll see in the near future if this duck is going to fly. Thanks again,
Terry
