Wall Street News Alert: Aggressive Investors Alert for Tuesday! July 13, 2004, Part 4
M2 Communications via COMTEX
Jul 13, 2004 4:03:55 AM
Weston, FLA., Jul 13, 2004 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Wall Street News Alert` s "stocks to watch" this morning are: American Multiplexer (OTC: AMUT), On2 Technologies Inc. (AMEX: ONT), American Fire Retardant Corp. (OTCBB: AFRT) and iBIZ Technology Corp. (OTCBB: IBZT).
Aggressive investors and traders need to be watching American Multiplexer (OTC: AMUT) this morning! Yesterday after the markets closed, the company issued a press release announcing that it will deploy eFotoXpress in kiosks so that tourists may place their digital storage cards into the kiosks and send them via e-mail to anywhere in the world.
This should be super news for investors! The user does not have to print pictures at the kiosk. At the press of one single button, large images may be sent via e-mail to multiple locations. Initially the eFotoXpress kiosks will be placed at high demand tourist locations. Eventually the kiosks will become available at all locations where users come to deposit their disks for printing. There will be a small fee for each e-mail and AMC will have a revenue sharing agreement with the vendors of these kiosks. The project will commence sometime in the third quarter of this year.
Investors need to keep their eyes on this one! In the mean time a pilot plan to start introducing eFotoXpress at kiosks will begin immediately with cruise ships. These kiosks will be stationed at the ship's business centers, strategic locations and in rooms that have Internet connections.
Edward Tan, President and CEO of AMC, said: "We are very excited about this new market place for the eFotoXpress software product. It provides another opportunity to maximize our revenue streams and accordingly shareholder value."
The stock closed yesterday at about twenty cents a share.
In case you are not familiar with the company: Located in Sunnyvale, California, AMC is a major leader in developing JPEG2000 consumer products. The company continues to invest its resources in the compression technology that addresses the digital camera market and video streaming market. eFotoXpress is a software utility that uses wavelet compression technology and the new JPEG2000 standard to easily compress very large images so that they may be sent by e-mail without any loss in quality. eFotoXpress is the first product that uses the new JPEG2000 standard so that compressed images may be sent via e-mail.
Stocks showing interesting activity yesterday at the close of the regular trading day were: On2 Technologies Inc. (AMEX: ONT) up 10.9% on 1 million shares traded, American Fire Retardant Corp. (OTCBB: AFRT) down 15.3% on 124.3 million shares traded and iBIZ Technology Corp. (OTCBB: IBZT) even on 15.2 million shares traded.
Commentary: "Retailers posted June sales, giving mixed results to same store sales, with Wal-Mart only up 2.2%. Cool weather and higher gasoline prices were the culprits, according to experts, while luxury retailer`s posted larger gains," Stated Sonja Rudd in Wall Street News Alert`s daily commentary continued at: http://www.***********************.
