Strategic Alliance Between BiTMICRO, Storm Company and NanoSignal to Bolster Innovations in MRI Technologies

Partnership to Create MRI Solutions for the Medical Industry by Combining NanoSignal's SLICES(TM) Technology with BiTMICRO E-Disk(R) Solid-State Flash Drive

Wednesday, June 02, 2004 06:00 ET

FREMONT, Calif., Jun 2, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BiTMICRO Networks(R), a pioneer in intelligent flash IDE/ATA, SCSI, USB, VME, PMC, CompactPCI, FireWire, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel solid state storage solutions, has formed a three-way technology partnership with Las Vegas, Nevada-based NanoSignal Corp. (OTC:NNOS), and systems integrator Storm Company to develop industry leading, next-generation image processing technologies for the MRI market.

SLICES(TM) is an image processing software that manipulates raw data matrices obtained through the MRI scanning process. It is being incorporated into an E-Disk(R) enabled hardware console, currently under development by Storm Company, a Las Vegas-based systems integrator and technology consulting firm. When completed, NanoSignal Corp. (OTC:NNOS) intends to market this console as an add-on to enhance the performance of MRI systems worldwide, including those manufactured by General Electric, Hitachi and Siemens, among others.

The alliance is currently conducting extensive beta tests using the E-Disk(R) flash drive as main storage component. Initial results produced magnetic resonance images that boast up to 10 times more clarity and resolution than conventional MRI tools. In addition, SLICES(TM) significantly reduced patient scan time and the need for patient callbacks and rescanning.

"NanoSignal's objective is to bring to market the most innovative solution that will speed up patient scan time and provide clearer MRI images than conventional MRI equipment. After evaluating various alternatives, we have concluded that BiTMICRO's E-Disk(R) solid-state flash drive is the best storage platform for our software. Storm Company's expertise will ensure that the capabilities of E-Disk(R) and SLICES(TM) are properly optimized," says Scott A. Ervin, CEO of NanoSignal Corp.

When NanoSignal is ready to commence marketing its console, Storm Company will supervise commercial production, shipping, installation and user training. "All of these functions will be performed by our global network of sub-contractors. This is the best way to maintain our strict quality control standards," stated Antonio Roel Macaraeg, president of Storm Company.

"BiTMICRO is creating a new era in non-invasive medical diagnostic technology by bringing E-Disk(R), a popular solid-state storage solution for military and industrial applications, into the health care industry," says Rudy Bruce, president of BiTMICRO Networks. "Our strategic alliance with NanoSignal and Storm Company gives us an unprecedented opportunity to save lives, not in the battlefield but this time in hospitals and medical clinics all over the world," he adds.

This one is starting to wake up....closed up at .042. News should be coming out soon regarding funding and Nanosignal just filed suit against a Wall Street institution...in regards to them counterfeiting NNOS shares....I've owned this one for a long time. Made good money on the ups and downs. I've been holding my shares and just waiting out this lull.

Thought this one was worth bringing forward again for people to take a look at. Do your own DD, of course...have a good night. out.

BiTMICRO and NanoSignal Team Up to Advance MRI Technology for the Medical Industry

Tuesday , October 05, 2004 08:30 ET

LAS VEGAS, Oct 5, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NanoSignal Corp. (Pink Sheets: NNOS) announces alliance with BiTMICRO Networks(R), a pioneer in intelligent flash IDE/ATA, SCSI, USB, VME, PMC, Compact PCI, FireWire, Ethernet, and Fiber Channel solid state storage solutions. NanoSignal Corp., developer of SLICES(TM) technology for use in the MRI industry, jointly announced the successful integration of BiTMICRO's E-Disk(R) solid state flash drive with NanoSignal's SLICES(TM) MRI software.

SLICES(TM) is NanoSignal's image processing software that manipulates raw data matrices obtained through the MRI scanning process. Using the E-Disk(R) flash drive as its main storage component during beta tests, SLICES(TM) was able to produce images that boast up to 10 times more clarity and resolution than conventional MRI tools. In addition, SLICES(TM) significantly reduced patient scan time and the need for patient callbacks and rescanning. These factors can contribute to a reduction in film consumption of up to 40%.

"Our SLICES(TM) product has been developed to improve existing MRIs through a combination of enhanced image quality and greater patient throughput, thereby increasing the economic impact to the MRI owners. We are firmly committed to achieving our goals," said Dr. Rupert Perrin, chairman of the board of NanoSignal.

"Healthcare facilities are increasing their use of digital imaging technology, both in patient evaluation and actual medical treatment. In addition, computerized medical record systems are being implemented to facilitate speedy archiving and retrieval of patient records," stated Rudy Bruce, president of BiTMICRO Networks(R).

"BiTMICRO's E-Disk(R) flash solid state disk is a robust storage application suitable for these applications. It easily meets the high-speed data I/O requirements of embedded image processing systems, resulting in faster and more accurate diagnosis. Moreover, E-Disk's(R) feature-patented security and data protection technology will help maintain the quality and integrity of medical information. We are confident that E-Disk(R) will become the de facto solid state storage standard in the medical industry," Bruce added.

NanoSignal Corp. Announces SLICES Status Update

Tuesday , October 26, 2004 11:51 ET

LAS VEGAS, Oct 26, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Many of our shareholders have requested a more current update on our progress toward completing SLICES(TM) commercialization. "NanoSignal Corp. (Pink Sheets: NNOS) continues to focus on commercialization and implementation of its propriety SLICES(TM) technology, while exploring additional opportunities to strengthen its balance sheet and produce sales from the medical community," stated Scott A. Ervin, president and CEO.

The company expects in the near term to receive sufficient offers for funding from outside financing sources to complete a finished version of the SLICES(TM) technology employing our technology and BitMicro's super flash drives. The company looks forward shortly thereafter to a successful final field trial. The reason initial programming took so long is because the radiology center's leased MRI had a built-in shortcut called "half-NEX" (half number of excitations) on a good sized number of their scans. This shortcut meant that the MRI acquired only half of the raw data (using less time) and a special method had to be incorporated using conjugate symmetry with phase correction to determine the rest of the data. The only other remaining issue is that the MRI wasn't saving raw data from every scan and this is a problem for the pulse sequence description (PSD) auto-storing mechanisms in the MRI machine itself.

It was decided due to this fact, the particular model of MRI in use represented only a percentage of MRIs still in service, that additional work should be performed on other models to increase the number of other units that SLICES(TM) could actually interface with in our global market today. Therefore, the engineers did concurrently begin work on interfacing with the Hitachi Airis open MRI using the DICOM interface, while successfully employing our BitMicro flash drive in conjunction with the SLICES(TM) algorithms. Once the DICOM interface is totally completed, incorporating the SLICES(TM) technology at flash drive speeds, SLICES(TM) should work with over 50% of the installed MRI machines in the industry with only very minor modifications necessary between different manufacturers' machines.

"Naturally, we have been significantly delayed due to funding requirements but once we successfully complete testing for a market penetration of approximately 25,000 older MRI machines, work can then be completed on the remaining markets worldwide. This is a very significant achievement and another of the steps necessary for completing the 67-point business plan established earlier in the spring," stated Ervin.
