Food Safe International Signs Letter of Intent with DTG Industries to Incorporate RFID and Food Safety
Tuesday May 18, 8:26 am ET

TORONTO, May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Food Safe International, Inc. (Pink Sheets: FSIJ - News) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Letter of Intent with DTG Industries, Inc. (Pink Sheets: DTGJ - News) to create RFID traceability and tracking solutions for perishable fruits and vegetables. Specifically, Food Safe will work with DTG to industrialize iPico's unique Dual Frequency RFID tags, readers and middleware in perishable containers to provide full traceability from the field to the retail shelf. Food Safe and DTG will market and integrate the combined solution to global food producers thereby creating an integrated food-source management, marketing, source verification system, and food safety process from the producer to the consumer.
Gordon Westwater, President of iPico North America says: "We are intrigued by Food Safe's unique solution for safeguarding perishables and we look forward to working with Food Safe and major US grocery retailers and third party providers in offering a complete and reliable traceability solution along with Food Safe's current process to ensure maximum consumer safety and satisfaction which will effectively protect our customers' operations, reputations and businesses. With the recent influx of Mad Cow and Avian Bird Flu in North America, there is a heightened awareness to see complete and accurate tracking and traceability for all food products that make it to our shelves. In addition to the traditional supply chain savings, the Food Safe solution will provide a complete protection solution."

Food Safe and DTG are companies well positioned to meet this need as part of an RFID solution to track fruit and vegetable production simply and cost-effectively.

About Food Safe: The main goal of Food Safe is to eliminate food safety and sanitation issues and provide methods to improve procedures to minimize risk and liability. Food is one of the most mobile commodities traded internationally. Consumers are asking more questions and demanding answers. Whether the commodity is spices (insect contamination), beef (E. coli), strawberries (Hepatitis A, salmonella), fish (mercury) or any of thousands of foods traded globally, consumers and buyers are demanding new standards of quality, safety and nutritional value.

Protecting people from food borne illness is Food Safe's number one priority. Food Safe's comprehensive program is a proactive approach to food safety. Spurred into action by food crises in the global beef industry, there is an international consensus that producers and food industry stakeholders require a reliable methodology and technology for verifying food production and food safety.

Forward-looking statements in this release are made pursuant to the "safe harbor" provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. Investors are cautioned that such forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, including, but not limited to, continued acceptance of the company's products and services, competition, new products and technological changes, as well as any and all "other risks" associated with business.

Channel American broadcasting has changed its name to DTG Industries, Inc (OTC TGJ) and has signed an agreement to purchase a private company involved in RFID Technology.

Data Technology Group (DTG) is an engineering, research and development company focused on technologies providing efficient cost cutting solutions to all types of corporations. DTG has vast experience in the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Global Positioning Satellite (GPS), and Cellular technologies creating all types of product, employee, and asset management tools for companies to reduce major cost in the never-ending search to control bottom line profit.

DTG has exclusive rights to selling and distributing Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) products specializing in wireless technologies to track vehicles and transmit High Speed data services in a mobile environment. DTG has contracts signed for the 2004 year with two companies called Webtech Wireless (WTW) www.Webtechwireless.com, out of Vancouver Canada, and Satellite Security Systems (S3) www.satsecurity.com out of San Diego California. Both companies have units that work on GPS but differ in some ways. WTW uses a cellular technology with AT&T Wireless to move data, and S3 uses Reflex technology by carriers like Skytel and WebLink Wireless paging network to pass the data back and forth.

DTG is also fully committed and involved in the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology since October of 2002. We have agreements signed with a RFID developer of products and technology out of South Africa and Canada named iPico (www.ipico.co.za) to become the first Value Added Reseller (VAR) in the United States.

Forward-looking statements in this release are made pursuant to the 'safe harbor'provisions of the Private Securities Litigation reform Act of 1995.

Investors are cautioned that such forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, including, but not limited to, continued acceptance of the company's products and services, competition, new products and technological changes, as well as any and all 'other risks'associated with business.

TORONTO, Apr 28, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --

DTG Industries Inc. (the 'Company') (Pink Sheets: DTGJ) announces that it has determined that it is not in the best interests of the Company to acquire Data Technology Group Inc. and that it will not be proceeding with the transaction as contemplated. However, the Company intends to maintain a close relationship with Data Technology Group.

The Company however has executed an agreement with iPico Inc., which gives the Company rights to distribute iPico's full line of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) products in North and Central America. Radio Frequency Identification is one of the fastest growing markets in the identification and authentication industries. The growth to-date and the predictions into the future for passive RFID tag and reader technology will follow an upward geometric curve. The global uptake of RFID is expected to grow rapidly, conservatively reaching a value of US$950 million by 2006. While the unit sales growth is geometric, the value of sales is essentially linear because of the compensating effect of diminishing unit prices due to economies of scale and emerging manufacturing and assembly technologies. The Company intends to carry on business as a RFID system integrator.

About iPico: iPico is considered a global leader in RFID and its expertise is respected around the world. In a recent report prepared by KPMG, KPMG stated:

'Although the automatic identification ('AID') market has grown rapidly, large-scale implementation has largely been hampered to date due to the high cost and unreliable performance of radio frequency identification solutions ('RFID').

'iPico has developed a RFID product range that overcomes both the cost and performance barriers and management believes that this will contribute in establishing iPico as a global leader in the long distance, through-beam, multi-read, high-speed RFID tag market in future.'

iPico's products solve authentication and identification problems where conventional technologies, like barcodes, are inappropriate, but it remains important to have effective traceability. iPico's technology is especially relevant where re-usability or compliance requirements exist in areas like border control, health and safety and bio-security.

iPico has developed RFID Integrated Circuits since the early 1990s. Today its UHF, 2.45GHz and Dual Frequency RFID products excel at low cost, long read range, fast multi-read anti-collision and high thru-beam read-speeds of dynamic tag populations. iPico and manufacturers in Europe, Israel, Asia and Australasia produce smart labels and tags based on the iP-XTM communication protocol. iPico's low interference readers comply with regulatory requirements in major geographical regions, and allow for multi- reader roll- out in close proximity. The iPico DIMI(TM) middleware platform manages applications in large scale, distributed systems, while the DIMI(TM) data and connectivity architecture allows for effective device management, data switching and data security. iPico's RFID products are used to optimize the management of items, goods, people, animals and processes within the logistic supply chain and other values chains.
