There are a good number of seasoned investors
here who provide good information. All Stocks
is a good site for finding real research which
presents a balanced viewpoint. There is some
pumping, there is some bashing, but a lot
less of each than you find elsewhere.

This is a valuable discussion site with
excellent information and entertainment
provided by All Stocks. There are some
as good as All Stocks but there are none
better than right here.

I've counted about 20 newbies on this site lately maybe more.....I think they're all kids from that class that's doing a report on stocks...kind of annoying....lol.... answering the same question over and over again....

I found the "other site" to be cluttered,
messy and plastered with graphics and
pictures making reading difficult.

There are a lot of postings over there which
contain complete SEC filings amounting to
several "pages" per post with some long
filings repeatedly posted. Ratio of SEC
filings and news articles postings to actual
discussion is about three to one; three
copy & paste for every actual discussion.

Format here is superior being clean, neat
and easy to use; better for those who want
to read rather than look at pictures.

Participants here, for the most part, know
to provide links to long documents and know
to "snip" down long news articles, as a
courtesy to all readers.

Site management here is significantly better.

On the other site if you say anything that could be percieved as being slightly negative, they will instantly label you a basher, even if what you said isnt negative. Over there someone said i was "subtely bashing" GZFX, when i own shares of it. They think i want to drive the price down so i can buy more. The scary thing is they are actually serious. Do they think that if i post a link to DVDBArn.com, or anything no matter how negative on a small web forum that it will actually drive the share price down?

Tim, this happens at all sites. Some are
worse, some are acceptable. I will concede
a few who moved elsewhere were a tad bit
sensitive, perhaps a lingering Raging Bull
effect on their thinking.

Accusing others of bashing, tossing out
personal level insults, really has nothing
to do with any one site. This behavior is
both personal and communal. It is directly
related to human psychology and degree of
self-confidence.

We read this behavior everywhere. People
who are vested in a stock and want that
stock to increase in value, do not want
to read contrasting opinions, do not want
to read negative hints; ostrich syndrome.
Their reaction is purely emotional, mostly
fear which manifests as anger. Emotions are
never logical thus illogical responses.

Most major factor in this is a classic
"mob mentality" effect. People feed on
each other and quickly the torches and
hanging noose appear because the "mob"
justifies this behavior, as a collective;
none feel personal responsibility for
their individual actions.

Those who exhibit this behavior are those
you should _never_ trust for advice nor
opinion on stock investment; it is clear
they are not rational logical thinkers.

Mach 1, not much difference between this
site and Danicing With Bulls. I have some
personal opinions but those opinions do
not speak for all.

There is no reason, Mach 1, why people
cannot participate at both sites. This
is not a popularity contest, this is
strictly business, strictly a matter
of making, or losing money. When people
cannot keep business and pleasure sorted,
they will suffer loss of money.

I have noted some who moved elsewhere
do periodically return here to react
to my articles, with assumed monikers.

Cabbage, those who moved elsewhere did so
of free will and for reasons other than
disagreement with policy here. A factor
in this "was" a high import of people
who participate, or did, at Raging Bull.
They made a mistake of assuming Raging
Bull is indicative of all message boards.
Some of the Raging Bull people have elected
to stay and, I have noted, they are more
polite and tolerant of others.

Doesn't matter where you participate.
It matters how you participate.

I agree Purl, it is important for people to voice opinions on both sides. It seems quite impossible to voice my opinions here without being deleted, even when they are in a polite manner void of personal attacks/bashing. I like this site, but the censorship needs to be toned down, or refocused.
