I would like to open an on line trade account. I’ve looked at Ameritrade, Stottrader, Schwab and a few others. Any advise on the different trade accounts that have worked well for others would be appreciated.

I use Ameritrade, Schwab is costly and I seem to be able to get in and out with no problems. Don't know about the others as I never uded them.

It all depends on what you want to trade. I am with Scott which is fine for regular stocks over $1.00. But if you want to trade penny stocks, or otc bb stocks, the fees are going to kill you. Also there are a few otcbb stocks that I cannot even trade unless I put a call into the broker which is an extra charge also. Good luck with your choice.

depends on what u want and how much u have.
www.freetrade.com has 20 free trades a month, after that they are like 3 bucks, or less, depending on the amt. of trades u make. the minimum is 5000. u have to wire your funds in and out, and cannot call them.
www.choicetrade.com has 5 dollar trades, but no level II streamer for it's online trading platform, where u can trade otc:bb and pinks for a flat fee, regardless of shares. (or so the site says...i'm Canadian and neither of these sites will open accounts for Canadians.)

if u are looking for a low cost broker who u can call/mail off a cheque to and has level II, there is Ameritrade.com, and for a buck cheaper per trade there is empirenow.com. and there are probably other ones out there.

Mytracks another option, you can directly hit Nite or Schb...$12.95 for BB @ Pinks
After trading a friends Ameritrade account
my choice would be definitely Mytrack when it comes to BB.
There's a simulater of the trading platform in the program u can download to have a look.

Theres other MM's and ECN's like TRAC and Gnet that you can hit as well but theres xtra charges that make them unviable using on BB.
