one possible explanation for seeing the sales go thru above or below the bid/ask is that there are some MM's not doing biz with other MM's--i don't have Level2 yet so i can't see what i want to--but lets say there are two groups of MM's right now at war--the bid-ask i see on my streamer shows the highest bid and the lowest ask only-- if there are some deals going on where one group won't trade with another group then the deals are being cut outside the posted bid/ask--this is really bad--I'm not pulling my money yet-- but i smell blood

From Briefing Com:

"...The pullback is being attributed to sell
stops being taken out as S&P 500 futures
selling by Smith Barney has put pressure on
the market. Additional selling pressure has
been incited by the Nasdaq's decline below its
50-day exponential moving averages...."

They are talking about it on bloomberg too--but that doesn't explain bid/ask irregularities to me --am i missing something?

Thanx for the offer Randy but i don't know how to read them very well yet anyhow--i started online with a very small amount of RISK capital--i figured if i lose it all --so be it-- and if i get it to the minimum daytrade level--25K$ i would be earning my positon as a daytrader--I am getting very close--
as Clint Eastwood said --A man's gotta know his limitations. LOL

In order to test the theory you would need to make a running tally of the trades and figure out who is buying and selling to who --

Yes, briefing com plays it pretty straight.
They cannot simply state to the public,

"F'n crooked Market Makers are ripping
off people right and left."

Can't say that although true.

Is there a benifit to becoming a bonified day trader with $25,000.00 in your account? I only started with $1000.00 and after two weeks I am at $1983.00 its gonna take me awhile!

If you daytrade more than 4 times in 5 days you will be sent to the corner-- check into the rules--swing trader first step-- hold for next day mostly--you are doing well-

I read that ---- Pattern day trader status only applies to customers with margin accounts.

Is this true or am I messing up by trading over and over during the week?
