I attempted to buy USCI. I tried to order and it said "No bid or ask found for this security. Contact your local branch."

What does this mean? I was ready to jump in this stock at .0006. I'm hoping someone here can help me out, as I am obviously new to this range of stocks. Can I simply not buy something with such a low PPS with scottrade?

Thanks for any help, loving this forum,
brian

Just call the office and ask for a broker's assisted buy. This will cost a bit more but if you want it, this is what you will need to do.

if it is pink sheet, you need broker to enter order for you.

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking at USCI?

I,ve had the same trouble with Scottrade. If a stock doesn't have a bed/ask, and many Pink sheet stocks don't, then you have to talk to a broker on the phone. They say "no sweat" and then put in the oreder for you and
then say "oh, by the way, that will cost you $22.50 because you bought it through a broker
instead of just buying it on line." Thanks a lot. Now I do most of my trading through Ameritrade, although I'm looking at other brokers, I don't remember the name, but there
is one brokerage house that only charges $5 a
trade, a lot of people on this site use it.

I believe this stock will be around for the duration I need it, and I see the stock at one of the lowest points, great for my micro penny play I am looking for...

That Broker is called LowTrades, been using it for about a month and a half now and I really like it. For the most part 5$ is all a trade costs, and you can buy Pinks without a problem.

COMMISSIONS AND FEES - COMMISSIONS

Equities
$5.00 for market orders placed over the Internet.
$5.00 for limit orders placed over the Internet.
$5.00 for short sells placed over the Internet.
$5.00 for stop orders placed over the Internet.
$25.00 for broker-assisted equity transactions.

Additional ECNs and exchanges are available. Rates are $5 for market and limit plus ECN fees. ECN fees are as follows:

AMEX $.005/share**

ARCA $.005/share

ATTN $.005/share

BOS $.003/share

BRUT $.005/share

CHX $.003/share**

TRAC $.01/share

ISLD/INSTINET $.005/share

NYSE $.004/share for market and marketable limits**
$.01/share for limit orders subject to floor broker

OTC CHX $.003/share**

PHLX $.003/share

With low trades, does this mean that I am paying $5.00 plus .003 per share fee?
On 100000 shares that's 300.00. That can't be right. Perhaps I'm just tired.

I'm wondering the same. With that info how I read it ($5 + .003/share for my BB/PK) they would charge me $15,000 fee for the 5,500,000 shares I'd want to purchase, which actually cost $3300 total. Woahhh
