ICA Security Systems to distribute SmarTire for Motorcycles in France Leading distributor of motorcycle anti-theft systems adds SmarTire to its product line -- 5/2/2005 9:30:30 AM
RICHMOND, BC, May 2, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- SmarTire Systems Inc. (SMTR) today announced that ICA Security Systems is distributing its SmarTire for Motorcycles product in France. ICA Systems is the largest manufacturer and distributor of motorcycle alarms and anti-theft systems in the French market with over 1000 dealers across the country.
SmarTire for Motorcycles is an active tire pressure and temperature monitoring system that provides real-time tire information to the rider while the bike is in motion. At a push of the button, SmarTire displays each tire's pressure, temperature and pressure deviation. If the system detects a loss of air pressure or abnormally high tire temperature, a bright warning light automatically alerts the rider to the condition.
"We welcome the opportunity to distribute SmarTire's innovative tire monitoring system for motorcycles in France," says, Philippe Aubeges, Chief Executive Officer of ICA Systems. "SmarTire for Motorcycles fits very well into our overall strategy to expand into safety related products in addition to our security and anti-theft products. ICA's established dealer base can also provide the necessary installation and servicing required to support the introduction of this product into the French market."

You know, if you're watchin smtr, it's hard to believe that their product is required in every vehicle made in the USA starting in 2007, and now France is jumping on it too.
Unreal. But ups and downs are the way they all go. Close to bottom, and I'm adding more.

And let me add, if you sold, you'll want back in pretty soon.
To understand SMTR, you need to see the wild swings in this chart. Note the overall upward trend. We just did 'a correction'. Correction almost, or might just be, OVER.

This one is gonna trend up for the next 2 years. They may have a few lows and some settling but their trend is only going up. They are one of the few companies in position to supply US automakers with the tire pressure product that is required by law now on 2007 vehicles. I got back in today at .125 and plan to put it away for a while

Not only USA made vehicles (ALL OF THEM) - but France cycles now too.
This company is absolutely fantstic. Too bad people panic sold because it was dropping. All stock correct - and I don't mind getting more shares at .11 or .12 Thanks!
Watch this sucker go! Watch it fly on any news, which is due!

I Liked the "Be Tire Smart, Play your PART" It was free advertisment for SMTR
National Tire Safety Week (April 24 – 30, 2005)
During National Tire Safety Week and throughout the coming year, look for NHTSA’s “What’s Your PSI?” and the Rubber Manufacturers Association’s (RMA) “Be Tire Smart, Play Your PART” campaign materials at tire safety partner locations throughout the country.
NHTSA and RMA along with the National Automotive Dealers Association (NADA), the American Automobile Association (AAA), and American Car Care Centers (ACCC) are dedicated to helping motorists learn how important proper tire care is to vehicle safety.

I doubled my holdings in this today. Let go of a real loser (we know who) and put it in here at its low.
SMTR has a real producted, mandated by government. The only reason they are really down is the absence of PR since the government mandate was announced. France was nice though.
I'll hang with it. SMTR and DNAP are stocks you don't have to stare at. They will make you money.

SMTR is really do for a big news break. Then it will have a huge pop. A lot of people are into this thing, and hopping in and out. Soon, they will have to jump back in and hold. That's when we go.
One news story will send us over .30 short term - IMO.
Maybe we could get a story like USXP just got? That was a nice pop as well.

For those into charts, here it is. Notice the volume is about the same today as when the other smtr runs began. Note also the other runs were usually 3 green bars in a row. Today marks the 1st --- of what 'could' be three again. RSI = 59 Not bad at all.

The chart is definitely showing good signs. Kind of worried it didn't dip (and close) below it's previous low at the end of April on it's correction phase.

On RSI update, currently 61 SMTR didn't correct last time until RSI passed 80 - and it's still got room to run on the line chart as well (see link above)

This is the new buy in point now, I would say. It's hovering, and didn't go down on heavy volume. It was just some simple profit taking - but my opinion is that it was at the wrong time.

Just wanted to add a note about SMTR. I work in the auto manufacturing industry and have first hand knowledge of the systems being discussed. Delphi and Visteon are the key suppliers of the tire pressure monitoring systems being regulated. These systems are currently being installed in most high end models of cars, and have been used in Corvettes since 2000 as well as several other models. SMTR is primarily an after market application and not considered an OEM supplier. Like I said just food for thought, I certainly do not want to condone or bash any ones opinion of the stock.

I would recommend checking with any Chevrolet or Cadillac dealer, the current models using the Delphi system are the Corvette, Cadillac CTS and SRX. Also check the Delphi website their May press releases go into detail about their role as suppliers of the systems. I'm certainly not saying Smart Tire cannot grab a piece of the OEM market but I will say it is going to be tough up hill battle competing with the likes of Delphi which is a spin-off company of GM. Likewise with Visteon which is a spin-off of Ford. Also looks like from the Delphi site they own the patents for the systems and they plan to license the complete integrated system to other suppliers. Just info for best DD possible.
