Are you serious..........Only one will win as only one will survive. XM flat stomps siri. XM is just pulling away in every category except for debt and outstanding shares. Siri holder will at one point become bagholders. Its obvious.....its enevitable

I don't know about that.
Why? The american govt. likes duopolies more than monopolies if they can help it. In this industry there are HUGE barriers to entry due to the technology involved. These will be the only two.
Would agree I like XMSR more right now though.I get a lot of "look out!" signals popping up in my head when I check out SIRI. Rode that train from 1.19 to 2.75. Watching on the sidelines now.

Regards,
Mike

You are right...jsut like many failing companies SIRI will be had at auction fire sale prices in the future. Just like the Iridium Sat. network that cost a fortune to put in orbit......60 sattelites they were purchased for micro pennies on the dollar and now its profitable. Look at worldcom same deal. Mark my words siri will be gone but someone will fill there shoes. You flat cannot survive with massive debt, huge cash burn, already huge outstanding shares. An your competion does everything you do but better and cheaper.....Its a given!

Yeah, SIRI- talked about a guy with a fudged up a business plan. Same guy was on the board at World-com. Hard to trust that AND a wierd plan. Watching the charts, might jump in if I see a tech play, but not buying into the company yet.
Funny, I have a friend who I think might turn into a Dog he likes SIRI so much. He usually knows what he is talking about, but I find it hard to agree with him on this one.

Regards,
Mike

I personaly own both SIRI and XMSR. I was fortunate to get into XMSR @ 9.43 (flipped it 4 times) and Siri @ 1.76 (flipped it twice). However with SIRI, I don't see bankruptcy anywhere in the "near" future (say 5-10 years). They just recently upped their subscriber goal by the end of the year from 800k to 1mil. They constantly are landing deals and contracts left to right that will last several years. "Content is King" and IMO Siri has one up on XMSR. They both supply an even amount of streaming music, news, and talk shows. However, with the ability to stream stock quotes, support video feeds (video-ready), and have exclusive rights to NPR, Religion Channel and NFL, it gives SIRI the edge.

SIRIs mkt cap and outstanding # of shares are a bit bloated with dillution. I would rate SIRI a "market perform" because it's traveling in murky waters right now, yet heading in the right direction. SIRI has a lot of catching up to do with XMSR, but establishing itself as a piece of the pie.

I would buy-in SIRI in the 2s and below. and more XMSR in the low 20s and teens (if it goes that far). I'm going to vote for XMSR for the reason that it's simply winning the race at the moment. As for selling, I'm holding XMSR for the long haul (10+ years) as it will continue to thrive. With Siri, I'm selling all at 4.30 unless they do something with the dillution.

Cash is king I am afraid and the length of the contracts are meaningless. They have a monster amount of cash going out the door and very little coming in. Look at what they have had to do to keep tyhe doors open the last 18 months i the way of stock offering ect. They cannot and will be able to keep floating shares to keep the doors open. The creditors will colapse around them. Take a good look at there financials...very scary. All the management is making big cash so they will hang on as long as they can.......5 years..NO WAY!

"Last year Sirius lost $313 million on only $12.9 million in revenues. XM lost $584.5 million on $91.8 million in revenues. The losses are substantial, but it's the price upstarts have to pay to attract long-term customers. XM had a head start, sure, but now the companies are on a more level playing field. "

sync: i value your opinion.

Try to think long term. Yes, SIRI is in major debt. But so is XMSR. This is a new TECH sector, at the moment being tapped into. XMSR will break even way before SIRI, but that's not to say that SIRI never will. SIRI needs 2 million subs to reach CFBE. I'm not long, on SIRI, but I really don't see a BK in the future. They upped their estimate to 1 million by the end of this year and should have CFBE by mid-2005 to mid-2006. I've seen the financials and they aren't pretty. This is all my opinion.

There is room for SIRI and XMSR. SIRI is growing faster than expected, but XMSR has a better business at the moment.
