Is it better to buy stock in a company coming out of bankrutcy before or after it has a new ticker symbol?Or better should I buy it now then let them do the change over when they get the new symbol?

Someone else may be able to answer this better (and I avoid them both ways...), but I am pretty sure that most of the time, if you hold th eold symbol when there is a "change of symbol" you get nothing. In other words, the old symbol becomes worthless and the new symbol starts from scratch.
Although I think a lot of times a "q" stock has some pretty wild swings and money making opportunities before it dies, I do think holding a bankruptcy stock for long is a bad idea. Like I said, I wouldn't do either, but given your two choices, assuming my understanding is correct, you would have to buy after the new symbol is established.
Hope that helps.
