Big Sky Energy Announces Oil Discovery in Dauletaly Block, Kazakhstan Big Sky Energy Corporation (PINK SHEETS: BSKO) (the "Company") announced today that its subsidiary, KoZhaN LLP, has discovered an oil pool in the Dauletaly Block, which is located in the Embensky region of Atyrau province, 100 km northeast of the Kulsary oil field, 265 km east of the regional centre of Atyrau city.
Based on in-house seismic and petrophysical analysis, the Company drilled well DLT-33 to a depth of 875m to test the Lower Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic sand formations. Wire-line logs runs on the open-hole section revealed four oil bearing sands ranging from (1) 1.5 to 10 meters in thickness, (2) with porosities between 28 to 34% and (3) oil saturation from 70 to 82 percent.
The Company will now place up to 3 separate zones on 'Test Production' for a period of three months to better assess reservoir parameters. Based on the results of this 9-month test production, the Company will prepare a pilot production program for submission to the Government.
"This is a significant oil find," stated Mr. Al Sehsuvaroglu, the Company's President and CEO. "We will start planning to construct lease access and proceed with the construction of a temporary production facility on this site. We are also re-visiting our drilling program for the deep well DLT-30 according to the results of DLT-33 and will most likely set the surface casing for DLT-30 before mobilizing the rig to another one of our blocks".
