REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Feb 21, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Wherify Wireless, Inc. (WFYW), a leading developer of wireless location products and services, today announced the Company has completed its Global Location Service Center in Hong Kong to support Wherify-enabled service offerings in the Asian region.

Wherify's Global Location Service Center is a state-of-the-art versatile server and software hub that manages and presents wireless location-based information, including processing location commands and outputting high-quality position maps and aerial photos to end users. It can support Wherify's Wherifone GPS locator phone and other GPS-enabled wireless devices and third party applications across a wide geographic area. The location service center enables Wherify's aided-GPS capability by tapping real-time GPS satellite information from a GPS reference network to support the device location process, and performs information localization for end users. Once a device has been found, its location information is then passed to a subscriber via the Internet to be displayed either on a map or aerial photograph along with an approximate nearby street address. This process typically takes less than a minute to complete. Wherify's implementation also allows for advanced features such as the reporting of a series of locations requests through "breadcrumbing" and the plotting of each location on a single map. Future service capabilities will include geo-fencing, alert updates, personalized information and notifications.
