Yep, I was watching it all day. About 45 minutes before close it took off, after having gone semi-dormant early today. It wandered up and back over about a 15 cent range most of the day, then something must have jolted it to life. Had to have been some news or rumor of news, but I never found any. Almost the whole of today's rise was in the last few minutes. I look for a gap up in the morning. If, indeed, there was news, maybe a big run tomorrow.

MPET seems to have the same habit as CXN of selling off in the morning then running in the afternoon.

Weekly drilling report. Yanerbie - 1 Cooper Basin South Australia
Magellian Petroleum Austrailia Limited [ Magellan ] advises that at 06:00 7/7/05 hrs today the Yanerbie-1 exploration well in exploration permit PEL 110 was at a depth of 2,148 metres and was preparing to drill ahead following a routine bit change. No significant hydrocarbon shows were encountered at the top the Hutton Sandstone, the first of the primary objectives of the well.
Location, Cooper Basin, South Australia.
Lat = 26 degrees 54' 59.80" South long = 140 degrees 37' 49.10" East
Century Rig 3. ------------------------------------------------ " First of primary objectives ".....

so apart from the company, what's your take on the stock, Dusty? eg, TNOG (which I know is a pink) was going great on news, then apparently stalled, if I'm current on that thread. Sorry if this sounds whacked, I'm not up to usual DD speed cuz of our lil contracting biz...

performed it, don't know who wrote it; several covers, I think...
ya, like what I've seen re mpet, but I unnerstand tx geology, don't know chit about kangaroo-land...with oil as it is, would like to find one or two that you can actually DD...with TNOG I took my double and moved on, but it turns out I coulda held--rare in pinkie-land, and not something to recommend--hence my interest in this one...

Tex, tons of info available on MPET. SEC filings, Financial reports, history, charts,drilling reports are all readily available.
Ya gotta have somebody down yonder in Oil country who knows something about Aussie Crude.

maybe I can invoke some of my old geology contacts (one of my minors when i was doing the college thang back in history)...I got an outside, left-field to a big-time oil family from hereabouts. will push that button and see what pops re Aussie fields...thanks
