"Taylor has put dampers on several bridges in the Southern US to provide wind protection. In fact, a photo is running on AOL showing an oil drill rig on a barge that Katrina managed to jam under one of the bridges that has our dampers. After this event, the building codes all across the Southern US should eventually be updated to reflect the wind speed and duration of this particular storm. This should open up new applications for us in high rise structures. I expect that many bridges will end up being replaced and this will also provide a market. We have several high rise condo projects down in Central and South America that are using our dampers for this purpose. The codes in the associated countries are more rigid that those applicable to existing structures in the Southern US States. The new tower at Pearson Airport in Toronto uses our dampers for wind protection- they are not designed for 160 mph winds either, and hopefully no one around Oakville or here in Buffalo will ever have to worry about winds of this magnitude. Yours truly, Douglas P. Taylor"
