quote:One would think that Fox would've been the first choice for this. They are the least biased group of the bunch IMHO.
------------ fox, the least biased? there's a recently made documentary worth seeing, called OUTFOXED.
another one that is more than worth seeing is called THE CORPORATION. that's a must see for everyone.. very intelligently made.. not propaganda..
anyway, re: fox, remember the whole growth hormone thing in milk - two reporters working on contract for FOX did this whole expose´ -- the growth hormone was absurd to begin with-- there was already too much milk on the market, and it caused great pain and problems to the cows.. pus got in the milk, bacteria counts went way up.. etc. the milk wasn't safe -- other countries had already banned the stuff..
so the reporters put together this tight piece, and fox is ready to run it, then MONSANTO (the same nice ppl who brought us agent orange and ddt i believe) sent scary legal letters and fox pulled the piece at the 11th hour. the reporters fought.. "nothing but good factual material in the piece." fox tried to get them to just go away. they wouldn't. so they went thru a long series of rewrites. with the monsanto lawyers. things like "cancer" would get changed to "health complications" .. something like 87 rewrites i think? (unheard of in the business..) the reporters started to feel they were just trying to exhauste them, or use up their whole year of contract, until they could fire them..
finally one of fox's ppl made a big mistake, and admitted something she shouldn't have.. that they were just trying to get the reporters to drop it, out of fear of losing monsanto advertising dollars. or something. so the reporters sued. they won.
on appeal however, fox was able to reverse the decision. so the reporters lost their settlement. and fox went on the air saying the station had been completely vindicated.
what they didn't say however, was that, what the ruling found was that it's not a legal requirement of a news program to report the truth.
!!!!
ok, that was all paraphrased, and from my sloppy memory of THE CORPORATION. to get the precise details.. ask your coolest local vid rental spot if they've got it yet. you will not be sorry (this fox story was only one small part of it.)
------------------------------ finally, as soon as humanly possible, see the new film from china: KUNG FOO HUSTLE

Lucy we will have to add you to list to go on the O'Reilly factor with art, peaser, ktrain and glassman..WOW now that would be interesting.Only if you do go on please concentrate your considerable talents on the NSS problem.Because if you got into it with O'Reilly they would need several new time slots to handle the argument between you two!!
