You don’t need to pay for research unless you don’t have time or patience to research stocks for yourself. You can serf some boards and pick up some info, 99% of it is crap, but that other 1% could make you a rich person. If you come across a stock you think might have some potential, look up the share structure, competition, management, what they sell, location, read up on news, and if you have time call the company and talk to them.

I didn't mean to not do your dd. I spend about 30+ hrs a week looking at stocks. I definately do my homework. I was just trying to find any web service that can help in search of decent stocks. There is no one mag, tv show, web cite, ext, ext, that I will trust 100%. Thanks again for the help.

I know people that pay for stock picks and people that do everything on there own, and they both make out about the same. I have used stock picking sites in the past and have had some luck. I guess if you do DD on stock picking sites, you might become even richer faster.

I have used www.positionplays.com in the past and have had some success. My friend told me about it 6 months ago and I have followed there picks and they usually have solid picks. The only thing with recommending any stock picking site is they all make mistakes at some point and if you pick one of there losers, then you end up hating the site and person who recommended the site. sorry to bring an old topic back up (well, only a few days old).. but I'm a beginner to all of this. I haven't put any of my money into anything.. but I've been watching these forums.. and watching the penny stocks that some of you are picking.. and it seems that they all usually make some money from it. I was wondering what books I should look into that will actually teach me how to read charts, understand stocks.. all the lingo you guys use. Every book I've looked at talks about history, and blah blah about some guy that's rich now. It doesn't actually help me learn. The most useful thing yet has been this forum. Hopefully you don't flame the new guys.. or I'll have to get a new nickname [Razz]
but what do you think I should do first?

-edit: I posted in this thread because picking stocks is what I want to do.. so it was related.

Hello! This message board rules so I just had to join in [Smile]

I have made some long-term investments already, so I´m done with that and I want to do some penny stock picking [Smile]

I have read 2 books till now - Penny Stock Trading System (which is very good) and Penny Stocks: The Book (also a good reading material)

Because I´m a newbie, I subscribed to **********.com newsletter, to get and idea, how should a professional stock analysis look like.

I´m a pleased customer of Peter Leeds, but I want to subsribe to one more newsletter, which is a bit more "agressive" - I´m starting with only 4k $, so I would need a more "risky" and potentialy more rewarding stock picks.

If anyone knows for a good penny stock newsletter, please let me know, I´ll be happy to check it.

One that I have already found and seems to be a quality newsletter can be viewed at http://www.pennystock.com/index.shtml

Good luck to all!
