Multiple shots were fired on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. during the 2:00PM hour on Thursday. Congress briefly went into lockdown, which was soon lifted. Early reports indicate that the “isolated incident” began at 15th and Pennsylvania NW, when a car slammed into the south side White House gate, and was then chased by police to the Capitol.
Police say that at least one officer was injured in his car and that the suspect, a female with a baby, is dead. She did not have any guns in the car.
Rep. Tim Griffin, a Republican from Arkansas, seemed to blame Democrats for the shooting, tweeting, “Stop the violent rhetoric President Obama, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. #Disgusting”
On Thursday morning, Griffin tweeted, “Is violent Democrat language resulting in real violence? Dems said “yes” previously. Just saying.” He has since apologized: “The shooting today is a terrible and inexcusable tragedy and an act of terroism. No one but the shooter is to blame. I tweeted out of emotion but agree that the timing was not helpful.”
The House has reconvened.

winds out that the lady did not have a gun in the car looks like she was unarmed. there was plenty of time and opportunity to shoot out the tires

yes, but they are reporting that she hit a secret service agent at the WH and then she tried to hit cops with her car at garfeild circle (that was on video)....
this should never have happened.
