http://washingtonexaminer.com/eric-holder-drone-strikes-against-americans-on-u.s .-soil-are-legal/article/2523319

Attorney General Eric Holder can imagine a scenario in which it would be constitutional to carry out a drone strike against an American on American soil, he wrote in a letter to Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.

“It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States,” Holder replied in a letter yesterday to Paul’s question about whether Obama “has the power to authorize lethal force, such as a drone strike, against a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and without trial.”

Paul condemned the idea. “The U.S. Attorney General’s refusal to rule out the possibility of drone strikes on American citizens and on American soil is more than frightening – it is an affront the Constitutional due process rights of all Americans,” he said in a statement.

Can you imagine watching that on the news, what if it was in your hometown?

Pay special attention not to what is being said here but what is actually happening. Its very interesting (at least to me).

What follows is not my wish or desire, rather it is just what I take away from the unspoken communications....the between the lines things if you will.

If you have ever read Mark Twain's "War Prayer" perhaps you will no what I mean by unspoken intent. If you haven't read it, it's a short 10 minute read that is well worth the time.

I would have to believe that the government is aware of the mood and climate in our country. It has to be aware that there is a growing discontent, restlessness, distrust, animosity if you will....among a growing portion of the citizenry.

I stop myself short believing that there is an orchestrated and coordinated effort to subvert the republic....but there does not have to be one. High level Federal Officials are the new American Aristocracy. Whether they have become that by design or by happenstance is of little to no consequence. The simple fact is that they are now firmly entrenched in the role and seem to have taken enough of a shine to it that the idea of relinquishing that power is becoming detestable to them....to the point of becoming incapable to do so. We have not gotten to that point just yet but the things we are seeing are the labor pains. Challenges to their authority even when based on our constitution are being re-buffed....and with a growing level of obnoxiousness and disregard for the sanctity of "citizenship." This should concern you.

Holder's letter, despite all the pretty language, is a veiled threat....I will not say that it was intentional, but it is threatening nonetheless. Because the justice department is now on record as saying that circumstances can warrant this course of action. So now the question must be asked; "Okay, so who is the one with the authority to issue an order for such a strike?" The POTUS is the answer....one man....that is human, has ambitions, just as prone selfishness, bigotry, bias, etc....

Our whole system of government was intentionally developed with one underlying qualification that had to be met in order to be deemed viable..... and that is that no one man can wield that kind of power. Especially against those from whom his power is derived (Us).

Go back in time a ways and look at the progression of power undertaken by the federal government....Patriot Act, NDAA, and now this.

It is following a path. I hope others see it. This is exactly what happens when out of FEAR people look to the GOVERNMENT and SURRENDER LIBERTY to aquire a sense of SAFETY.

This stuff needs to get "undone" and quickly. I do not believe that this administration will be the one guilty of what I am about to suggest but that doesn't matter.

While congress has continued in its years long disfunction the office of the president and his arm the Justice Department have been gathering unto themselves more power and control. Setting precedents while time and the death of older patriots serves to remove from memory the idea of how our nation is supposed to function. A new normal is being established. The difference between the office of the POTUS now and in time past is that now the office holds an allure that it previously did not.....a great deal of unchecked power. If it remains in this state of being it will attract a real tyrant in very short order....one that now has the power to order drones strikes against enemies of America under criteria to be defined by that very same tyrant that believes he is America.

In other words his personal enemies can be punished with impunity....

This is how liberty dies folks....we kill it.

Pretty much sums it up...

That is exactly why it infuriates me to hear people like raybond so willing to give up more of our freedoms...

BTW...OUR democracy looks more and more like a plutocracy to me.

The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles were first deployed to the field in 2007 as a way to protect U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan from ever-more-powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by insurgents.

RT now reports that DHS has acquired over 2,700 MARPs to be used on missions inside United States. WOAI San Antonio reports that the bulky and sturdy vehicles have been modified before being given to DHS Special Response Teams (SRTs). These elite teams consist of specially trained agents sent to handle the riskiest and most demanding situations

“[The vehicle] is used in the execution of high-risk warrants — including drug trafficking, smuggling, and contraband,” Ross Feinstein, a spokesman for DHS, told Business Insider.

DHS posted a video to YouTube in which Robert Whittaker, tactical supervisor for El Paso SRT, displays the vehicle and explains its various features. There added skids for agents to ride along the sides, seating for 10-11 first responders, firing ports, and enhanced bullet protection for those riding inside.

“[The fortified glass] has multiple layers in there, and it will stop up to a .50 caliber round,” Whittaker says, “so it provides very good protection for us.”

Time for you to emigrate elsewhere then. Simple as that. Running your mouth is pointless, since you have stated multiple times you don't vote and don't participate. Move to Canada....or elsewhere.

There are posters that have used the overwhelming majority of their recent posts to do nothing other than insult. It is often justified as calling B.S. on someone. Their body of work reviewed in totality shows something else to be true....some folks just inexplicably have a bug up their azz.

To whom it may apply. Quit engaging fellow posters like a teenage fool. Stand and deliver your argument that we may all see the true source of your butthurt.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

supposedly Abraham lincoln said that, but i doubt that Abraham Lincoln really did say that since the internet is nothing but lies...

To propose that one has never had freedom or liberty is the same as to say that fallen veterans have died for the protection of an illusion or a delusion....that they were duped.

That would mean that they were of base intelligence, gullible, or outright fools.

That supposition is bad enough to think about but consider the fate of the person that is "wise" enough recognize that they have no freedom and chooses to raise a family...

A person with that knowledge that would still undertake creating a family has essentially resigned themselves to the role of a "brooding B#@$ch." Essentially taking upon the noble task of providing todays masters with tomorrows servants.

With full knowledge that they are not bringing forth free humans....selling out their own progeny.

sure, have the ability to censure anyone here, that is all. that's not a job.
i've never abused that power, i may have allowed a little too much freedom of speech as others might see it, but that is my philosophy, to err on the side of freedom.

'fore anyone gets excited and misunderstands? moderators here have to my knowledge all been volunteers, there have been quite few and anything they do to a thread is recorded in the server. mostly i have had to delete porno .... if you report a post? i check it, but that does not mean i will delete it...

BTW? the bullfighter in the picture is doing something called desplante which literally translates into insolence.
the bull is beyond the ability to fight and the matador is showing that he wore it out...
the FB has been 'sharing" this picture around claiming the Matador changed heart about bullfighting after this photo was taken. it's a load of crap as usual.
i especially like th epart abou the " innocence that all animals have in their eyes " LOL... you also raised animals, you also know better than that...
my cat always had that innocent look as she dismemebred rodents and laid the special parts out for me to inspect... photos available upon request, bu tthen i'd have to be moderator and delete them, th esame goes for the video i took of praying mantis eating hummingbrd... innocent? sure, they have no knwledge of right ro wrong...
i dunno even know what we disagree about Pagan. you do know that the markets had been mostly abondoned by "indiviudal" invsestors until very recently...
A total of $6.8 billion shifted into U.S. stock mutual funds in the first three weeks of 2013, according to mutual-fund tracker Lipper Inc. That is the biggest move since 2001.

yes and to follow the bullfighting allegory? the picadores are now warming up their horses to begin to cut the bulls neck muscles to make it safer for the matadore to work within inches of the horns, good picadores make it almost impossible for the bulls to hook with their horns.....

matadors have never impressed me much... i'd root for the bulls but they never win... even when the y beat a matadore they still lose [Wink]
