"Badat told the court last week that he believed the Malaysians, including the pilot, were “ready to perform an act.”
During the meeting, the possibility was raised that the cockpit door might be locked. Badat told the court: “So I said, 'How about I give you one of my bombs to open a cockpit door?’ ”
The disclosure that Malaysians were plotting a 9/11-style attack raises the prospect that both pilots were overpowered and the plane intended for use as a fuel-filled bomb."

"I observed (the plane?) burning at high altitude. While I observed the burning (plane) it appeared to be in ONE piece. From when I first saw the burning (plane) until the flames went out (still at high altitude) was 10-15 seconds. There was no lateral movement, so it was either coming toward our location, stationary (falling) or going away from our location," he wrote.

"The New York Times, quoting American officials and others close to the investigation, said radar signals recorded by the Malaysian military appeared to show the airliner climbing to 45,000ft, higher than a Boeing 777's approved limit, soon after its disappearance from civilian radar, then making a sharp turn to the west. The radar tracking then shows the plane descending unevenly to 23,000ft, below normal cruising levels, before climbing again and flying north-west towards the Indian Ocean. What the military did with this information is not known."

"MAS Airlines flight MH370 dropped to an altitude of 5,000 feet, or possibly lower, to defeat commercial (secondary) radar coverage after it turned back from its Kuala Lumpur-Beijing route on March 8.

Investigators are poring over the Boeing 777-200ER's flight profile to determine if it had flown low and used "terrain masking" during most of the eight hours it was missing from the radar coverage of possibly at least three countries."

"Fisherman Azid Ibrahim, 66, in Kota Baru, told the New Strait Times that an airplane appeared to fly low below the clouds which he followed for about five minutes before it disappeared. He was out at the sea with six other fishermen about 14.4 km (8.9 miles) from Kuala Besar in Pantai Cahaya Bulan.

Ibrahim said the plane was flying so low that he could see its lights 'as big as coconuts'. He had spotted the plane with his friend at about 1:30am local time, while all his fellow fishermen were fast asleep in the boat."

...

About 30 km (18.6 miles) away from Kota Baru, businessman Alif Fathi Abdul Hadi, 29, lodged a report with the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) that he saw "bright white lights", descending fast into the sea at about 1:45am the same day.

He was going towards the backyard of his house when he saw the 'white lights' as used in planes during night flights, heading towards Bachok, which was unusual, according to him."

If you take 9/11 style plot info, the Oil Rig worker's story, and put it together with the two other witnesses, then compare that to what we know from the secondary (military) radar about MH370's flight path, the eye witness accounts seem to be legit and IMO, it looks like a terrorist act.

If any of the windows in the passenger cabin blew out from a bomb used to access the cockpit, anyone not on supplemental oxygen at 45,000ft would perish from asphyxiation in a short amount of time.

In addition, a bomb to access the cabin wouldn't be needed if the pilot and/or co-pilot were conspirators in the plot, (thought they may have been coerced to fly the plane), and the two Iranians with the stolen passports should be prime suspects.

i'm leaning towards outright theft of the aircraft for "future use" as a flying bomb...

Well glass I hear you. There is a part of me that thinks this plane is being refitted to carry an A- bomb. I have no proof just a gut feeling as for the passengers I think they are dead.

interesting patent.

as thearticle points out? it doesn't appear to be an earth-shattering patent idea. however, it my be more than it appears to be at first glance.i see some pretty deep math analysis in that program that would be useful for analysing alot more than just die space on wafers....

i hope the NSA is busy figuring out how to ID all jumbo jets in the air immediately cuz who knows where it will show up next...

Malaysian Air sure is having some bad luck this year....

MOSCOW — A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 with 295 people aboard crashed on Thursday in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border, an area roiled by fighting between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian officials said the plane might have been shot down, possibly by a Russian-made antiaircraft system.

Actually...I would be more inclined to believe that they're passengers are the one's having the "bad luck". But hey...that is JMO. [Frown]

I'd say it's lucky. Even if "death" follows you around if you avoid "it", you are still alive til "it" catches back up to you.

I think quite a few people would not find this that unusal.

Only twice?

That's why some combat soldiers spend time in therpy, wondering why and how this happens.

I would not question it, just keep that lucky charm in the same spot when you walk around.

A good friend of mine in Vietnam was the head medic of our unit. When we get together he states that he used all his luck up over there.

After seeing the things he did saving guys, he might be right, but then again maybe doing the right thing gives you more luck, hopefully that's the way it works.
