If Susan E. Rice becomes Secretary of State, she might have to recuse herself from one of the first and most controversial decisions she would face: the Keystone XL oil pipeline permit.

The reason: Rice and her husband are major shareholders in the pipeline company as well as a variety of Canadian companies that are involved in exploiting the oil sands region of Alberta, which would feed the Keystone XL and benefit from a new outlet.

The couple owns $300,000 to $600,000 of stock in TransCanada, the pipeline firm, and they own stakes of more than $1.25 million each in four Canadian companies — Imperial, Encana, Enbridge and Cenovus — that have been active in the oil sands region of northern Alberta. Enbridge is also the company whose pipeline ruptured and spilled crude into the Kalamazoo River in Michigan last year.

Rice and her husband also own shares of major Canadian banks that are expected to provide financing for the Keystone XL project. They own between $50,000 and $100,000 of shares in Suncor, another oil sands company, and more than $1.25 million of shares in Transalta, the Alberta’s electric power producer.

Was there actually a point to that post? Or do just have a thing for her?

This is probably the reason that some Republicans backed off of her. When Benghazi went down and she told everyone it was over a video made 6 months prior by an American...I remember glass saying something about how scared John McCain looked after a meeting with her.

Its just funny how this person can be staunchly defended yet hardly anyone knows or talks about her backing of the tar sands pipeline.

Of course, you have no problem with this because Obama likes her, and has told you how great she is. If this were a Republican you would be all over it.

Again...was there a point to your previous post? So she and her husband own stock in companies affiliated with the tar sands and the Keystone pipeline. What point are you trying to make? Or do you even have a point?

the real point here is that Demnocrats are not the Communist/Socialist traitors that the GOP tries to paint them as.

it IS possible to be Capitalist and recognise that there is right way to do things and wrong way to do things.

and cashcow? they backe doff becuase the information was all classified. as i said it would be BEFORE mcacain got his azz handed to him at committee.

the Ambassador was not at the Embassy. he was doing something secret. there WAS CIA safehouse close by and they tried to make it htere. CIA safehouses are not somtheing you talk about until they have been sanitised.

if the CIA knew right away? (they did) they cannot simply announce that they knew because the enemy would KNOW how they knew and the informing agents would be exposed. there had to be a non-classified way to know and expalin that knowledge about what happened and our covert agents needed time to make their cover stories secure or get the hell out...

this benghazi case is JUST political masturbation by the gOP- it borders on treason IMO cuz these guys know ho this is supposed to workl and htey have abused the state secrets acts for politcal reasons.
