We have not been driving around for fun much. Maybe after we ajust we will.

Boy are we being had in Ca.

Gas prices are suppose to be coming down now, we have that summer to winter shift of refineries and they just don't store enough to handled the business.

So they ship it out of state.

Now there easing the air restrictions so the big oil companies can sell their different blend of gas to help us.

I think we should give them another tax break for helping us out again, there is no monopoly in the oil business.

Now all they got to do is put some more tax on these businesses in Ca. and we can bring that saying back from the Wash area in the 60's... last one out turn off the lights

Biden Complains People 'Can Barely Pay To Fill Their Gas Tank' - Back In '08 Debate

During the 2008 vice presidential debate, Joe Biden complained about how gas prices were so high at the time that the average “Joe” couldn’t afford to fill up his tank.

During the Oct. 2, 2008 vice presidential debate with Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, Biden was asked by moderator Gwen Ifill to comment about deregulation.

In his answer, then-Senator Biden took the opportunity to relate a conversation he had at a gas station with “a guy named Joey” who said he couldn’t afford to fill up his tank:

“So deregulation was the promise. And guess what? Those people who say don't go into debt, they can barely pay to fill up their gas tank.

“I was recently at my local gas station and asked a guy named Joey Danco. I said, ‘Joey, how much did it cost to fill your tank?’ You know what his answer was? He said, ‘I don't know, Joe. I never have enough money to do it.’”

At the time (Oct. 2008), the average cost of a gallon of regular was $3.17 – and only $1.93/gallon when Obama took office in January of 2009 – according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Today, AAA estimates that a gallon of regular costs about $3.82 (Oct. 9), while the latest BLS report says it cost $3.71/gallon in August.

so cash, you are blaming Obama for the high price of gas? yes or no?

cuz i KNOW for a fact he doesn't control it...

in fact is there are two thing that are dictating the price of gas right now... one is OIL and that is becuase there i snot much "cheap" oil left..

the otehr is that we are using ethanol in the gas and that was a GOP thingy wasn't it?

this week Shell sunk it's first new starter wells int he Alaskan arctice at cost of a billion and half... those are not even oil wells, they are the preliminary casing for the exploratory well which will be capped even if they find oil cuz they are not oil producing wells- just confirmation wells.. Shell has a bout 300 leases up there- it takes years to open those up to production... costs of oil go up cuz it costs so much more to get that oil... it won't be cost-effiicent unless oil is HIGH to go up there and drill.. yet you and the GOP somehow want to make this about Obama policy? sheesh...

let's face facts cash, oil is going to cost more and more no matter how much we produce..

that oil sand oil-gas from Canada that we need a new pipeline for (so we can ship it from the gulf of mexico to china) cost minimum 35$ per barrel to produce....

none of this si under ht e control fo the WH, and i'm sick of all the crap people blame on the WH that is just not in their corntrol...

we are doomed if people don't get tehir brians sharpened to figure out the real problems..

unless we develop a way to turn coal into gasoline or gasoline substitute? the US will not get cheap gasoline EVER afain, no matter how many new wells we sink, there isn't enough cheap oil left on the whole planet.

switch to liquid natgas? that might cut costs in half if we can get the infrastructure in place. but that costs Capital and nobody has nay anymore

the price of gas will never go down...it will always go up. For the 59 yrs Ive been on this planet it has always gone up..no matter what or who was the pres, My buddy has a prius..51 mpg.almost 5 times what i get...plus it usually uses electric recharging itself....thats the way to go. If any president could lower the price, dontcha think they would? This ridickulus assumption that the price will ever go down is insane.

No I am not blaming Obama for gas prices. Im just showing what a moron Biden can be. Cant blame Obama anymore than you can try to blame bush for the gas prices.

but everything is Bush's fault cash... everythign bad.. and everything good is Obama's fault...

right? LOL..

i am so sick of politics... i dunno why i even turn on the news anymore...

you know i really would like to vote every one of 'em out...

maybe Buckstalker will start the new third party- i'd work for him for free for a few years to get it going...

how come germany can put in 20 nuke power plants worth of solar power and we can't? i mean we have this huge desert.....

everybody beaches about Solyndra for GOOD reason. it failed and should not have gotten so much moeny.

we have the same chit going here in MS. the state PAYS companies to come here fro crying out loud..

Stion solar cell manufacturingwas brought in from CA by Haley Barbour (yaknow that GOP guy) and if it is still in business? i can't find out much about what they are doing...

theeeir website show their latest newsletter is form last eyar int he fall... i asume they're kapootskie...

i wonder if we could set up some sort of cap gains tax free "zones" or areas of business that would allow the private undustires to operate tax free (likeGOP's love) without having Govt money go to them (whihc GOPs say they hate)--

film production companies even manged to get these
tax credit things that they can sell to other companies to alleviate tax payments...

seems to me that a molel using municipal tax free bonds could work to do this- instead of federal grant monies?

Yeah exactly. Biden portrayed the high gas prices in 2008 to Bush, and implied....why vote for McCain when you could vote for Obama and have financial healing. The gas prices will go down due to all these new "green" initiatives.

This is why I think Obama is going to lose next month. He put on this huge revival in 2008, and all you had to do was vote for him...to be a part of the movement. You know those people who sleep outside of Apple stores in line to spend a ton of money on the next Iphone? Thats what a lot of Obama supports look like to me.

Im not saying im gaga over Mitt, but its time to let someone else take control. The lessor of two evils. Look at this complete disaster in Libya. An ambassador was killed, and all the cover ups and the latest coming out from it. Blood on the hands.

If the Libya situation would have gone down under Bush? I cant even imagine what ray and jordan would be saying about the situation. However, since the cool guy is in office, we just need to believe everything we are told and not to question him. Dont you question Obama!

cash something way worse happened under bush, in fact about a half dozne hings did... but we are no longer allowed to mention ANY of it according to YOU.. and when it was mentioned? the GOP said it was all just how things hapen... remeber? or it was clinotns fault.. LOL... sheesh, swatting flies? remebr that? Bush didn't think terroists were a problem?

furhtermore, the Ambassador's securty funding was cut byt he Teaparty in Congress, don't beleive me? go look it up yourself...

all of this overspending by Obma/ if you go look where it isactually being spent? you don't find bloated govt agencies hiring dozens of hundreds of more people, you find that the moeny was already written into law long ago before he came to office, and he can't get it "unspent" by himself...

matter of fact? the govt is cutting funding to most agencies adn they are cutting stuff like travel exoenses 10% every year.. those cuts cause airlines and motels and restaurants to get less revenues- dont they?

if Romeny wasn't all over the place on every single issue, pandering to both sides? i could vote for him...

Obama? he's been consistent... and if you don't see the change that he has implemetned as good? it's cuz you don;t want to..

fact is? Obmacare was originally a GOP idea and i've shown you how and why where the ideas came out...

face it... the gOP croaked under Rove.... Bush wasn't even the brains...Romeny? he's now running on being a banker/businessman... that's his ONLY claim to competence... well being abanker isn't really a good thing now is it?

Glass...lets you and I form a new party...we'll call it the "common sense" party.

The first thing on the agenda would be to tariff all Chinese imports, abolish the IRS and personal income tax, and close about 700 of the 900 overseas military bases.

The second thing on my agenda would be to outlaw lobbying and get the big money out of the policy making business.

The third thing I would do is end congressional pensions and let them pay into and collect social security like the rest of us.

sounds like a start....

how about setting up some tax free bonds for manufacturing and Liquid natural gas infrastructure building?

i bleive we have the technology to hook a machine up to chill nat gas as it comes to our house and be liquified into auto fuel... this could be simply promoted by making it immune from cap gains- the investmetn money would 'magically appear" from all over the place for that...
T boone Pickens was talking that up before Obama got elected...

i would say do it for solar too, except some people get blueball if you even mention it...

there really are alot of solutions that SHOULD be able to attract common snese people from both parties...

the cotton is gettin brought in here right now, and it's all going overseas to be made into cloth and thread- cap gains holiday for ANYBODY willing to build a factory to do it here....

interesting site, but i do have some issue with a few of his facts...

from auto racing i know that alcohol presents quite few issues that he glosses straight over..

right now i have a weed whacker and a top sehlf pushmoxer thqat are both out of action from alcohol being put in the gasoline. the fuel lines dissolved and i have to refit them- otherwise they work fine...

alcohol was the first "victim" of the federal govt. being repressive.. look up "whiskey rebellion'... the farmers all used to convert their excess to alcohol for more value added product..

there are new yeasts being Geekically modified every day to produce alcohol from a wider variety of materials and to be more effective at producing alcohol in higher concentrations...

so yes, it is a wide open "boutique" or backyard industrial process..

it is still illegal to brew beer, the first step in making alcohol, in MS- it is also still illegal to for us to mail order alcohol as in fine wines here.....

I second that.

We need to give the president back "LINE ITEM VETO". Then they can cross out all the BS politicians put into bills.

Wish....Eliminate Free Trade Agreement Act and US manufactures will be forced to bring jobs back to the US. That solves a lot of problems over time. Look at all the stuff made in China now. 99% of Walmart's products are made overseas. Walmart makes how much money....???

Yes...all politicians get the same healthcare as we do and Social Security. They don't like it...they can buy their own.

I don't want to reduce our military strength or numbers...close the overseas bases, bring our people back here and reopen all of the domestic bases we have closed over the years...

This will accomplish two things...

1. Protect our borders

2. Our military guys and gals will now spend their paychecks in OUR economy

Make sense?

WTF...We currently have 1000 military bases overseas...

More than half a century after World War II and the Korean War, we still have 268 bases in Germany, 124 in Japan, and 87 in South Korea and 234 golf courses the Pentagon runs worldwide.

234 Golf Courses...are you phucking kidding me!!

This is exactly WHY I want to see the personal income tax abolished...the only thing it is used for is GOVERNMENT WASTE!!!

yes it does. furthermore? we should consider allowing full time active duty people to attend part-time colleges and univesrities and or work (no more than 20 hours per week) as part of their active duty status.

also? if we set up cap gains free zones that are specifically targeted to improve real production (like steel mills and textiles factories) there will in fact be more jobs which they will be trained in eitehr by going to school and or working part time. this will encourage people to enlist and integrate them more "cleanly" back into society as they leave the military...

hiring a part-time active duty military person would allow an employer to save money, and it would hopefully add enough income so that these military families don't NEED food stamps and WIC... many do

Sounds good in theory but won't happen.
As far as oversea bases, we will most likely always need some for quite a few reasons.

As far as domestic bases reopening, doubt that would even be possible for many.

We could see some expand, which is nice to see happening at Camp Pendleton here in Ca. But the other side of the coin is that somewhere else another base probably cut back or was shut down.

I can't think of a much nicer place to train for the soldiers than in Oceanside Ca. can the weather be any better for these marines and sailors.
