OH WOW. You have to watch this video of him.

In today's press briefing, White House spokesman Jay Carney was unable to identify the capital of Israel:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/carney-unable-say-capital-israel_649019.html

So the man who speaks for the WH does not even know the capital of our closest ally.

AND

Mitt is going to Israel and Obama hasnt ever since he was elected.

Did you watch the video Jordan? It was really hard to watch. You are talking about hoping Mitt doesnt say something stupid, when Carney just revealed his true colors. Talk about out of touch.

Jerusalem, I have known that since I was a child. Geography was always a favorite subject of mine. What REALLY threw me off is this is the WH spokesperson, supposed to be real smart. Did you see him avoid the question? Israel is one of our closest allies, a key and important one. Obama has not even gone to Israel during his time as President...its been years. This administration sticks their nose up at them and its just disgusting. They have done more to prop up and engage the muslim brotherhood than being a strong ally publicly of Israel.

Because cash, Jerusalem is not the internatioanlly recognised capital of Israel.

this has been a political football for 60 plus years. trying to force the WH to make either answer is diplomatic trouble.

the US Embassy is NOT even in Jerusalem...

http://israel.usembassy.gov/

think about it...

this was one of those gotcha questions, and you and i never know what sensitve discussions are being held RIGHT NOW in say, Pakistan or Egytp or soem other place that will be blown to shreds over a silly question like that...

Egypt has followed in Bush's desire to realign the middle east in a democratic way, and they Democratically elected the Muslim Botherhood party leader to be president...

wasn't Hamas democratically elected too? yes.

think about ti cash... none of this is checkers. it's all chess.

no cash, you do not know what is, you are quoting an article from the weekly standard blogs..

they are a propaganda machine.

futhremore, eastern portions of Jerusalem were annexed by Isarel and the US abstained from the vote that condemned them for doing that while the resolution passed the security council...

WHAT IS cash is that the US has always recognised jeruslaem as the capital

BUT

Bush $1's Secretary of State James Baker condemned them for annexung the palestinina part too.

Simce then the several presidents have held several positions regarding the unity and sovereignty of Jerusalem.

in other words? this question was a trap, not a test.

these are the kind of questions that trigger kidnappings and border shootings and those damn rockets they make out of street posts, or worse

it's not productive when the whole mideast is blowing up in all of our faces, and ain't worth the broadband.

So, why do you think Obama has not gone to Israel since being elected President and now Mitt Romney is going over there?

Also, the NAACP convention. Mitt showed up to speak, and Obama sent Biden in his place. Seems kind of odd.

becuase Obama represents a unique chance to bring Peace to the mideast cash.

look, i enlisted and volunteered to go fight Iran as a navy gunner while we had hostages there, i went to high school with Iranians who considered themselves Persians and they spoke Farsi - they were not Shiites they were not Sunni's they were not Muslims at all... I was fluent in cussing ( and not much else) in Farsi by the time i was 17 and i was taught by relatives (not close) of the Shah.

the Shiites took over during the Iranian revolution and they took the hostages.
one of the hostages was the father of another of my friends from school..
I was ready to go kill the hostage takers and anybody who stood in the way..
to sayi was diappointed when reagan failed to go in and fix those guys even after they released the hostages would be fair. I am not anti-war, i do suppport Israel's right to exist as a nation, but i don't always agree with what they do. of course i cannot know why they do everything they do, and i might agree more if i was made aware fo more of the issues...Not all of my Jewish friends support or have supported everything Israel does either.

my best friend was Jewish, and he was friendly with the Persians in our school too. I had many other frinds that were Jewish and some were friendly withe the Persians and some were not friendly with them at all.
Some of my Christian friends were much less frindly with the Persians than some of my Jewish friends. Very Much Less.

All of the Persians that i knew and rememeber have stayed here the rest of their live cuz of the Iranian Revolution and the hostage situation. Some oft hem are not happy that Reagan didn't go to Free their country back for them...

peace is or should be the goal of all war.

i have a fairly good idea of how many factions and different points of view there are in the mideast, it's one hellofalot-- there's nothing homogenous about any of these countries and their cultures.
Alotof what people critisize about Muslims culturally is not even part of Muslim religous belief systems - some of it (actaully alot of it) was being practiced centuries before the Prophet came to live.

I dunno why Obama hasn't gone to Israel, but i do know that by not going he is able to have more influence over many of the non-Jewish people in the mideast.
oddly enough?
Even Arabs have racism issues with their Muslim brothers that are not Arab, i. e. African or Negro.
I don't beleive our relationship with Israel is in trouble. I beleive that Israel will, with our support, eventually take out the Iranian nuke program once they are convinced that Iran has hit a predetermined threshold that i cannot possibly know.
i am confident that Obama as president would not only back them if this predetermined threshold is reached, i beleive Obam would use reapers and Predators and Tomahawks to pave the way for te "manned" Isralei Air force.

remembr Obama has invaded Pakistan over and over again with very little repercussions, Going to Irael and shaking hands with Shimon Peres on TV would likely change that. it could change that ability dramatically.

I bet that now, in specific, because Mitt Romney went there and that if he gets elected?

The predator and reaper strikes in Pakistan that would be ordered by him as president, will become internatioanl incidents, instead of the minor diplomatic issues they have been under Obama...

still think Romney should have gone there?

i'm not sure that it was in anybodies best interest for Romney to go except Romney and the terroist recruiters in the mideast.. they will use that visit in their recruiting if they can.
see? sometimes being a good friend is not about sharing high fives and gladhnding and primping for the cameras.. sometimes you just have to do some dirty work and keep it all on the lowdown.

this ain't no checkers, this ain't no party -this aint no disco- this ain't no foolin' around....

Doesn't really matter who does what between the politicians.

Both Israel and the US have to many things to win by their relationships to each other.

Doesn't matter what appears to be, what the reality is in the end is all that matters.

Tons of money support and relatives in the US which controls what Isreal does or not do and the US.

California has a very rich support of Jewish people in the LA area, Beverly Hills etc. as do other parts of the US including New York.

So what you see and hear isn't necessarily what is happening as far as Israel is concerned, you can take that to the bank.

In 2009 Forbes magazine, 139 of the top 400 were Jewish, that should tell you something what the politicins will do when it comes to push and shove.
