The GOP War on Women is Back

Jul 18, 2012 | By ThinkProgress War Room

Republicans Just Can’t Help Themselves

While of course the war on women never really went away, Republicans have been slightly quieter in recent weeks about their attacks on women, women’s health care, and equal rights in the workplace. Well, House Republicans just launched another big offensive in their war on women’s health.

Here’s the rundown.

House Republicans are currently working on annual spending bills and the one for the Labor Department, Department of Health and Human Services, and Education Department is a parade of horribles. With regard to the war on women specifically, it:
•Defunds Planned Parenthood
•Completely eliminates the Title X family planning program
•Puts your boss in your bedroom, allowing your employer to deny you insurance coverage for contraception or any other service your boss objects to for any reason at all
•Slashes funding for evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention
•Wastes $20 MILLION on abstinence-only education
•Permanently expands so-called conscience protections that allow health care providers to refuse to perform, participate in, provide coverage of, pay for, refer for, and train in the performance of abortions
•Prohibits the implementation of Obamacare for one year, which includes numerous benefits for women
•Blocks a proposed rule limiting the number of home health care workers — 90 percent of whom are women — who can be exempted from the minimum wage

The bill is also chock full of attacks on workers, students, and others.

Republicans have tried almost all of these unpopular attacks on women before — and they failed. But it appears that they just can’t help themselves when it comes to going after women, their health care, and their rights. Remember last year when they almost shut down the entire federal government just to defund Planned Parenthood?

In addition to these latest attacks, Senate Republicans also recently blocked the Paycheck Fairness Act. Meanwhile, House Republicans continue to refuse to take up the bipartisan Violence Against Women Act that passed the Senate on an overwhelming basis. Instead, they are insisting on a watered-down version that would leave immigrants, LGBT people, Native Americans, and others without protection.

IN ONE SENTENCE: If Republicans don’t want to be accused of waging a war on women, then it’s time for them to stop their attacks on women.

Thats great and all ray, but aside from media matters, rachel maddow, and think progress, the rest of americans (the majority) are worried about this disaster of an "economic turnaround" and want to know where all those "stimulus" jobs are that were promised years ago. Its the economy stupid, and so while the left wants to cry about having to show proof of who you are to vote, immigration enforcement, and birth control, the real issue is the failure of this administration to truly stimulate the economy.

Today, ANOTHER risky "green" venture that reaped millions in grants from this administration goes under in Vegas. Obama has outsourced a ton of jobs and money to foreign nations, more than Mitt ever did. That is a fact.

No, it makes plenty of sense. Your constant nagging on Bain, and on this "war on women", and all these other matters are nothing compared to what people across the people really care about. Where are the jobs? Those hundreds and hundreds of thousands of jobs per month if all we did was pass a stimulus bill.

I really dont see how trying to marry Bain and Romney is going to do anything productive. Remember Obama and Acorn? Far worse of an issue than Bain and Romney.

Media matters: hahaha hey look, look at Romney he made money and worked at Bain Capital!

Yeah....big deal. Oh, and you still can not explain why Bain gives more money to Democrats than Republicans. Democrats take that money, and you are silent on that....typical.

I think its funny how a few ppl think they know what the majority care about. This Bain thing and women are just two things that matter. Iits not the only things or maybe not the most urgent or dire things, but theta are a cause for concern among ppl who care to know as much as possible to make an important decision. When someone runs for president..his life becomes an open book. ask obama.

cash, my wife worked for the numebr two computer comapny in the world for five plus years.

this company was famous for it's real time computing capability. it was DEC like deck, they designed systems that made IBM look slow. They were obsolete within a few years after microsoft created windows because they refused to look at home computers as soemthing everyone would own one day. The point is that you like to claim that private industry is some major success story, IT AINT! private industry dies and gets reborn everyday. Romeny is the undertaker in that process. Do you really want his country to be taken ove by theundertakers?

The govt spends money on failures everyday. BUT even in thefailures? there is stuff created that matters, and i mean reaaly matters... Intel? the chip maker stole a bunch of patented ideas form DEC to make pC's remeber DEC was not interested in the PC game, they saw themselves as supercomputing whiz kids, and PC were at best, a waste of itme. LOL

. but the tech they owned lives on. It mostly gone now due to even more advances, but the point is that there's nothing to be gained if you don't take risks. For evey company that succeeds four die, each year, and the odds get longer over time not shorter.

as to Obama outsorcing jobs? he didn't do that the companies do that and that's cuz there's no place left her to get teh work done. and that's cuz it's more PROFITABLE to go to china.

thing is? peopel here expcet to eat meat every day... not in China.. your "facts" are not facts. they are propaganda.

her's WHY the solar energy companies that try to work here fail:

Germany mulls solar panel anti-dumping suit vs China
BERLIN | Fri Jul 20, 2012 2:45pm IST

(Reuters) - Germany's environment ministry is considering launching anti-dumping proceedings against China over its financial support for solar power firms amid a bitter price war in the industry that has left many German panel producers fighting for survival.

Environment Minister Peter Altmaier told German broadcaster ZDF late on Thursday that there had to be fair competition in the global market and anti-dumping proceedings might be one way of ensuring this.

Altmaier recently suggested higher import duties as another way to prevent price dumping.

"It is also being looked into whether anti-dumping procedures can be launched against China," he said.

it's not cuz Obama is dumb, it's cuz we have too much "freetrade". only it's not really freetrade.

your hate for Obama shows in most every post you make- you are willing to overlook facts to make your hate seem valid. the fact is you just hate him and you don't care about the truth.

and it takes the Germans who everybody recognises as one of the most efficeint and captiaislic societies in the world to have theguts to come out and say what is really going on...

China cheats. I personally suffer from their cheating. They don't pay their workers fairly, they don't charge for eenrgy failry. They should not be allowed to sell to US period. But the profit is there for those willing to epxloit it. And the blame goes to Obama.. LOL..

Chinese workers are lucky to eat meat once a week...
sure Obama needs to step up, but Congress has made it clear. They won't work with him. period end of story. Beohner adn Mcconnel both have proven their resolve to make Obama a one term president nomatter how much it costs....
Romney? Oh yeah he's going to call China out and make them perform like they should... oh yeah... sheesh..

just more proof that you r FOS cash?

the vegas company that failed? got the major amount of it's money form the Bush admin not form Obama:

The Amonix solar manufacturing plant in North Las Vegas, subsidized by more than $20 million in federal tax credits and grants, has closed its 214,000-square-foot facility about a year after it opened.

Officials at Amonix headquarters in Seal Beach, Calif., have not responded to repeated calls for comment this week, but the company began selling equipment, from automated tooling systems to robotic welding cells, in an online auction Wednesday.

A designer and manufacturer of concentrated photovoltaic solar power systems, Amonix received $6 million in federal tax credits for the North Las Vegas plant and a $15.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy in 2007 for research and development.

Rene Kenerly, a former material and supply manager at Amonix, said the plant has been idle since May 1, when he was laid off. At its peak, the plant had about 700 employees working three shifts a day to produce solar panels for a utility in Amarosa, Colo., he said

http://usbacklash.org/obama-picks-yet-another-obama-green-energy-failure-additio nal-20-million-wasted-by-obama-crony-capitalism/

2007 15 millionplus?? that was before Obama was even the candidate;
seriously cash you have a problem. try sharing it with other people besides me. it's hard to stomach.

fact is? Obama 's policies did create tax incentives, but the GOP LOVES THOSE!

all these Obama hate sights and GOP leaders don't care why or how they get rid of him. even if the Truth is the first casualyt or the economy is the second one. and both have been damaged severley by this crap.
