lots of talk about doing this lately...

i wonder what the actual legal ramifications are?

suppose i am a ranch owner ,i am not, but suppose i was, and took out my trusty 30-06 and bagged a predator?

i dunno if that is really possible since they prolly fly too high, but suppose i did, and it crashes on my property. downloading the data onboard proves it was on my place when i bagged it?

there are already drones being shot atand downed, but not USGovt ones (yet):

have i actually committed a crime at all? destruction of govt property? but it was on my place? hmmmm....

i have been aware of smaller non-miltary drones being used in agriculture for at least five years now... they would be baggable with 10 guages or 3.5 inch 12's cuz they are very limited...

wow, you just set the hard drives at DHS recording for sure cash...

but since they are rolling? i agree... i like physics, i mostly read and try to get kids interested (specially my own).. in MS physics is aforeign language to these kids...

a simple spark gap might actually be able to do it.

waht's a spark gap? a spark plug. it wouldhave to be the correct size and it would have to be repetitive at the right frequency tho...

here's a pretty cool example of a not so simple (but still homebuidlable) spark gap-
Easy-To-Build
Table Top Tesla Coil
250,000 Volts!

Output spark is not dangerous as coil is earth grounded, but can produce a mild electric shock.

Produces 8-12" Visible Lightning-Like Discharges. Both the kit and assembled unit include an 8" toroid and wound coil (so you don't have to do any winding). Excellent Science Project. Fully adjustable.

This is a spark driven Tesla coil generating highly visual and audible sparks into open air without a return contact.

i once had an ignition in one of my cars that was so hot it would make (TV) monitors within about 100 yards show so much snow that you couldn't see the pictyres wherever i went...

it was dual coil double point. i decided that it didn'treally give me any more performance than the single coil.. today? they have one coil per cylinder tho.. so we were ahead of th ecurve trying this in the late 80's.

i might have gotten better performance if i could have found better plug wires, but i couldn't at the time. they fixed the wire issue by putting th ecoils almost directly on the sparkplugs...
