All I have to say is...WTF. I mean, it cant get any more "progressive" can it? This is what they call "moving forward".
DOJ pressures university to allow 38-year old man access to women’s restrooms
Watch out, you ladies at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith: Those feet under the stall next to you might just belong to a 38-year-old man.
Despite opposition from female students, UAFS has decided on “advice of counsel” to allow a 38-year-old anatomically-male, transgendered student access to the women’s bathrooms on campus.
According to a report from the conservative Campus Reform, the university decided to reverse its transgender policy after receiving a letter from the Department of Justice. The school’s initial solution was to allow the man to use gender-neutral bathrooms instead of the women’s restrooms, and to offer to convert more bathrooms into gender-neutral areas.
“Because of the stance we took, the individual filed a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights in the Department of Justice,” Mark Horn, vice president of university relations, told Campus Reform.
Jennifer Braly, the 38-year-old male student who was not satisfied with the university’s policy, filed a complaint with the Justice Department and sued.
“I am frustrated and highly depressed about all of these unfair restrictions,” Braly explained in an online appeal for sex-change surgery donations. “I live as a woman full time and have been for a year and a half now. I have natural breast development bigger than some normal girls from the hormone treatment. The only thing restricting me is what’s between my legs. Everyone is so concerned with what’s between my legs. I am just as much woman as anyone else.”
According to Campus Reform’s interview with Horn, it was a letter from the Department of Justice that led to the bathroom policy change that allows Braly to use women’s restrooms

Glass, I know you are joking but you really are not bothered by the direction society is moving towards?
I wonder how parents feel about this, having an older man in a stall next to their daughter.

the world ends every day and starts over every morning and morning is everpreset somewhere on the planet... think about it...
you don't think transgender issues are new do you? the whole notion of seperate toilets is actaully new..
my great granprents left us a cabin on the river with an outhouse... the cabin was a big party place in the depression (they had it set up for serious drankin') ... the outhouse had two seats and no divider...the pinups were still up in the 70's (i wish i had been smart enough to save and preserve them) when we tore it all down and burnt it... dumb huh? those pinups were 20's and thirties calendars...
two holers were very common... the honest truth is Mid- 20th century America was mostly a big bunch of prudes...
heck, the notion of each person having their own bathroom is pretty much only a phenomena of teh 50's in America and prolly nowhere and nowehn else..
transgenders have been with us since we first dropped out of the tress.

oh and we have had co-ed dorms in colleges fro quite some time now too... fathers still send their daughter off to college... mostly we worry about the jocks and stuff like that, not the "lightfoots"...

According to my wife women don't fart so that shouldn't be an issue. Even if they do I'd imagine they have a more refined, delicate tone to them.

Good to see we're still advancing in dialog and understanding and cross-cultural awareness: I remember the day when we might have been debating the sentence on Rufus Paul Harris (in lockup until about 2031, btw--newbies? just Google ticker CSHD), but this attention to anatomy and specifically the sonic qualities of the female sphincter is a new high.
I suppose it's old school to mention that women don't sweat...

i did a show two years ago where i got 2nd in show to a lady who did "primitive" paintings.
i tried not to be offended, and i admit i was a little so my bias is showing, but her primitives reminded of the stuff that we used to scrwl on the toilet stall in elem and jr high.... her stuff was intentioanlly more "innocent" than the scrawls on the toilets stall, but very very reminiscent of it...
maybe we don't really grow up as much as we'd like to think?
as to thde stcok discussions? sheesh Tex, i never did take stocks as seriously as most seem to.. take a taste and walk while the walkin' is good... i still hold some dragon mine stock and i will till it hits 10 or 15 in ten more years, but i took a 100% profit plus paid off my original purchase price....
i think we figured out for sure the market is is only for people who have moeny they can afford to lose, and even a GM is not "golden"....
to be honest to this day, i don't have a clue why people are in love with Apple products at the prices they cahrge, and the way the manufacture in China... it's hilarious when people call Apple an "American Company".... in fact when i (frequently) hear one of these bozo's on TV saying that Apple is a "Great American Company"? i start foaming at the mouth and looking for things to throw...
nah, i am not out on the streets (yet anyway) , but these Occupy Kids have it right, you can be a consumer or a producer, and we don't have too many Producers in America left any more.. that will cahnge back in a generation ( i hope) but the deck is stacked against anybody who wants to actually do real work and be really productive IMO..
look a the FB fiasco... everybody is upset? LOL the price to earnings was joke from the gitgo...
