Limbaugh Doubles Down On Sexist Attack Against Sandra Fluke, Demands She Post Sex Tapes Online

By Alex Seitz-Wald on Mar 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm

Yesterday, as ThinkProgress noted, conservative shock jock and strident women-basher Rush Limbaugh called Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown student who House Republicans wouldn’t let testify at a contraception hearing last week, a “slut” and a prostitute. “She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception,” Limbaugh said.

The remarks drew widespread condemnation, with House Democratic Leader Nancy Polosi (D-CA), demanding that “Republican leaders in the House to condemn these vicious attacks on Ms. Fluke.”

But on his radio show today, Limbaugh showed no remorse and instead reveled in the attention. Referring to Fluke, Limbaugh demanded that women post sex tapes online if they use insurance-covered birth control:

LIMBAUGH: So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you post the videos online so we can all watch.

Limbaugh also said he found the outrage over his remarks “absolutely hilarious.” He again completely misrepresented Fluke’s testimony, saying, she “went before a Congressional committee and said she’s having so much sex she’s going broke buying contraceptives and wants us to buy them.” In fact, Fluke testimony was about a friend — who is gay — and needed contraception for medical reasons, but was denied coverage by Georgetown, a Catholic university.

He went on to say, “I will buy all of the women at Georgetown University as much Aspirin to put between their knees as they want” — a reference to Rick Santorum-backer Foster Friess’ home-spun idea of birth control.

How is Rush gonna pay us back for the years of prescription medicine abuse and subsequent treatment?

Perhaps he should post his time in rehab online.

So a woman going to Georgetown law needs to have her birth control paid for by who? Her father must be really proud. Daughter says shes having so much sex she cant afford birth control, and its someone elses duty to pay for it?

Who pays for your Plavix CCM? Do we need an Insurance 101 course? Were you not paying attention when we have said repeatedly that Medical Insurance by definition is Social Medicine?

She's having so much sex she can't afford birth control? That sentence doesn't even make sense. The only way one has anything to do with the other is if she is a prostitute, in which case, she has enough for birth control unless her pimp is a slave trader.

Why the outrage in the first place? Cancer treatment costs insurance plans far more than birth control on an average yearly basis. Why don't you go ask grandpa how he plans to make it up to you, all the years you've helped him pay for chemo?

Do you really want a world where the majority of women are NOT taking birth control? You want to wear a rubber every time you want to be friendly with your wife? Want to deal with the hormone changes that birth control helps to smooth out? Look at the acne that birth control helps prevent? Deal with the teenage moms that will begin popping up all over the place? You think you are actually gonna save money by fighting birth control???

Now you are putting ideas that are not mine out there and labeling them as mine. I am not fighting birth control. Hey, I have bad headaches, you gonna buy my aspirin? Whos paying for my cough syrup? I need better access to mens health, where is my access and why are dirty Republicans blocking it! wwaaaaa waaaaaa

you know what? there is no problem with "getting access to healthcare". They have condom machines in bathrooms in bars for cheap. They give them out for free in HIGH SCHOOLS. They have free condoms at planned parenthood, free pills at planned parenthood. I also do not understand why "progressives" get so butt hurt when people dont want abortion providers to be able to provide an abortion on a girl who is say 15 without letter her parents know.

if some woman at an expensive...1% type of law school and says shes broke, and cant have sex because she cant afford birth control pills, and that someone else needs to pay for it....yeah ok.

I dont care about birth control, its something that has never been a problem all the years growing up. Then all of a sudden, liberals want taxpayers to pay for ALL of it for anyone who wants it, and adding PC labels to it like "womens health". Its just birth control. Condoms, pills, etc.

Under George Bush women didnt have these kinds of problems, but all of a sudden its some big war on women that the Republicans are doing. Great timing...election year.

cash the peeps getting butthurt here are teh ones who want to claim that this soehow violates their religous practices.

who is trying to tell who waht to do?

you want Sharia Laws? NOT! but you allow this argumant to follow itself to the end, and you'll have Muslims defending their right to kill thier daughter for wearing lipstick UNDER the same argument. get over it for crying out loud. At minimum God gave us the brains to figure out how to create kids we actually want.
heck, if God wanted Us to watch TV he'd put one on our wrist, if he wanted us to fly he'da made us birds... it's that simple. He gave us brains enough to take control of our own situation.

you want real Freemarkets? get rid of all insurance, it's Socialism in it's most basic form. Even if soembody makes a buck at it, that doesn't make it Capitalism. Socialism and Communism would work just as well as Captialism if people weren't what people are... that's why we want Capitalism in general right?

look at the Preamble carefully:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

in order to form a more perfect union? that's union buddy. get it?

Aspirin? Cough Syrup??

Who have you been listening to again Cash?

Aspirin and Cough Syrup are both over the counter medicines meant for temporary pain relief.

There is no over the counter Birth Control pill and it most certainly isn't meant for temporary use. It is a controlled hormone pill that can raise risks for blood clots and strokes and therefore needs to be monitored by a physician.

Hell, steroid creams are considered a controlled substance, require a prescription, and are covered by medical drug plans. Is that rash on yer arm more important than a woman's right to unfettered reproductive health? I don't think so.

Oh, and your headache...Unless it lasts for 20 some years and costs you roughly $200,000 it don't equate my friend.

And we aren't even talking about abortion...unless of course you are implying that the country will have a lot more of em if we allow the states to ban contraceptives as Santorum has said he would support as president.

I think Rush was over the line...obviously he made a comment that was stupid about her putting videos of her having sex if she is going to get free birth control.

There is no problem with "accessibility to womens health care" as they call it. Why are we now all up in arms about a university that wont give free (not really free) birth control to one of their students?

Read that and then you tell me if you really think this is about sex. If your answer is YES, then I also want you to tell me what in your personal history gives you the right to make judgements on the sexual choices of another. Male or Female.

Laura Ingraham responded on Twitter and Facebook to Ed Schultz's comments about her.

Schultz called the conservative talk show host a "right-wing slut" on his Tuesday radio show.

Remember that Pagan, of course you do, but you do not want to talk about that now do you? Its ok for the left wingers, or the Republcian woman "deserves it", right?

Ed Schultz suspended from MSNBC after calling Laura Ingraham a ‘right wing slut’

Published: May 26, 2011

MSNBC suspended host Ed Schultz for a week on Wednesday after Schultz called rival pundit Laura Ingraham “a right-wing slut” during a radio broadcast teh day before. Paul Farhi reports:

Schultz apologized for the comment on his TV program, “The Ed Show,” on Wednesday night, saying he had used “vile and inappropriate language” in referring to Ingraham. “I am deeply sorry, and I apologize,” he said. “It was wrong, uncalled for, and I recognize the severity of what I said. I apologize to you, Laura, and ask for your forgiveness.”

Schultz’s slur was a response to Ingraham’s criticism of President Obama’s trip to Ireland. Ingraham had noted that Obama was touring Ireland while devastating tornadoes were hitting the United States, including one that killed 116 people in Joplin, Mo.

“President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Mo., on Sunday, but you know what [Republicans are] talking about, like this right-wing slut, what’s her name? Laura Ingraham?” Schultz said on the air. “Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over.”

In his apology, Schultz said: “It doesn’t matter what the circumstances were. It doesn’t matter that I was on radio and I was ad-libbing. None of that matters. What matters is what I said was terribly vile and not of the standards that I or any other person should adhere to. ... I want all of you to know tonight that I did call Laura Ingraham today and did not make contact with her, and I will apologize to her as I did in the message that I left for her today.”

Schultz said he offered to take himself off MSNBC “for an indefinite period of time with no pay.”

On her Facebook page Ingraham wrote, “Now I’m tempted to insert one additional zing ... about men who preach civility but practice misogyny.”

seems Rush was forced to apologise by his sponsors:

By CRAIG HOWIE | 3/3/12 5:37 PM EST Updated: 3/3/12 5:48 PM EST

Rush Limbaugh on Saturday apologized for calling a law student who testified on Capitol Hill on contraception a “slut.”

He apologized to Sandra Fluke of Georgetown University in a statement on his website.

“For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

“I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level."

“My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.”

The talk-radio host sparked a political and media firestorm when he branded Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” during his show Wednesday. Three advertisers bailed from Limbaugh’s show, Limbaugh was condemned by Democrats and some Republicans, and President Barack

yeah but look at the viewership difference between the two. People on MSNBC are far left hacks, and their ratings are poor. Rush has what, 20 million listeners per WEEK?

wow...just wow.

As many have already uncovered Sandra Fluke she is, in reality, a 30 year old long time liberal activist who enrolled at Georgetown with the express purpose of fighting for the school to pay for students' birth control. She has been pushing for mandated coverage of contraceptives at Georgetown for at least three years according to the Washington Post.

However, as I discovered today, birth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. S http://mrctv.org/blog/sandra-fluke-gender-reassignment-and-health-insurance he also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if "gender reassignment" surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law

Mike Huckabee Takes on Rush Limbaugh, Giving Radio Stations a New Choice in Conservative Hosts

By Alyssa Rosenberg on Mar 20, 2012 at 10:07 am

Rush Limbaugh’s attacks on Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke have provided an embarrassment and a revenue sink for his employer, Clear Channel, which has had to contend with increasing numbers of advertisers who have pulled out of advertising on Limbaugh’s show. And as Limbaugh has continued to magnify his own woes, first with an anemic apology about his word choice, and then with an incoherent Twitter campaign against his critics, the signs are clear that Limbaugh’s position as an icon of the right might no longer be secure. In Limbaugh’s self-inflicted wounds lie the opportunity for a conservative rival to emerge—and for a rival network to Clear Channel to scoop up an enormous amount of money.

That rival talker is former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and the rival network is Cumulus Media. “The Mike Huckabee Show” launches on April 9, and Cumulus is eager to sign up radio stations to carry it. The opportunity for them is two-fold: if stations decide to drop Limbaugh, there’s an obvious opening for them to carry Huckabee’s show instead. But even if they don’t, most of the local station contracts with Limbaugh are exclusive: another station in the same market can’t carry him. In the past, that meant the station had snagged itself a prize. In the future, it might look more like they’re saddled with a cigar-smoking albatross.

Cumulus Media’s seized that opportunity, telling stations that don’t have Limbaugh now and that might choose not to reup their contracts to carry him in the future, that in Huckabee, they’ve got a better alternative. The company’s distributed a list of 31 advertisers who have asked that their spots not be affiliated with any Limbaugh-related programming. And they’re pitching Huckabee’s show by telling stations it’ll offer “more conversation, less confrontation.”

In a few weeks, we’ll start to see if that strategy works. And even if it does, Huckabee’s tone may be different from Limbaugh’s, but that doesn’t mean his positions—with a few exceptions like childhood obesity and arts education—will vary much from the man he has a chance to dethrone. But as radio stations reassess their budgets, they might want to reconsider whether Limbaugh’s once-vaunted brand will continue to be worth it to them at the end of the next contract they sign. More than 140 advertisers have already made that assessment and decided to move on.

i listened to Huckabee when he was running quite a bit.
he was a fairly reasonable conservative. not saying i agree with all of his views.

i never watch his Fox show, so he may have gotten worse than he was when he was running

Hey ray, just answer me this, why is it ok for foul language to be used against women when its a liberal commentator, but when a republican calls this woman something....its a crisis? Why are you so one sided on this? Why arent you more open minded?

"Maher has called Palin a “dumb twat” and dropped the C-word in describing the former Alaska governor. He called Palin and Congresswoman Bachmann “boobs” and “two bimbos.” He said of the former vice-presidential candidate, “She is not a mean girl. She is a crazy girl with mean ideas.” He recently made a joke about Rick Santorum’s wife using avibrator."

Oh how about making jokes about statutory rape of Sarah Palins daughter ray? Is that ok with you too?

David Letterman joked about Sarah Palin’s “slutty flight attendant look” and joked about her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, having sex at Yankee Stadium with Derek Jeter in the middle of a game.

Oh and dont forget Bill Maher gave 1 million dollars to Obamas SUPER PAC.

Just keep telling yourself Rush calling a woman a slut is the end of the world ray.

CCM, do you really equate things said by comedians to that of a widely known political commentator? Your grip on reality is slipping fast.

You all say rush is a joke so would that not make him a comedian? Also, I dont see Rush donating 1 million to a superpac either. You really try to marginalize events that you complain about when they are done by someone who speaks for your ideology.

ummmm.... here's what Rush ahs to say on that subject. I would suggest that if he really beleives that other news agencies should register as superpacs then so shuold he and so should Fox. I don't really seem to be bale to find the energy to care about it anymore. I'll vote, but the whole thing is now become just a national disgrace..

The perceived PR spin prompted Limbaugh to declare: “The AP, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC — they’re all part of the Obama super PAC. They give advertising away to Obama. They give it away. It’s free media. He doesn’t have to buy anything from these networks or these publications.”

The sick attacks on Ann Romney are just beginning by the Democrats. Leftist women these days seem to smear any other woman who chooses to be a mother. Saying being a stay at home mom is sexist by men, and that what is best for children is to be in day care all day apparently with strangers.

Ann Romney is a mother of 5, a breast cancer survivor, and has Multiple Sclerosis. What is the probem with Democrats in the Obama administration and their ignorance to other people's struggles in life if they dont fit the struggles that they have of their own?
