So here it goes. After watching the riots in Europe, and all the other global protest movements. I think we may be up next in 2012. If Obama loses the next election, and a Republican wins then there will probably be civil unrest in our cities. If a Tea Partier wins....it would be real ugly. All these new global socialist movement freaks are traveling around and trying to stir up unrest.

Remember what happened in Wisconsin? They stormed the capitol building, people we assaulted, it was just ugly. All over collective bargaining. Well Obama losing would be like that on steroids imo.

What do you think? Do you think if Obama loses there will be riots by certain groups?

those protests were for the most part peaceful and fell under 1st ammnedment activity...

how many people were criminally charged?

i only heard of one assault during the labor protest and it was by a "Conservative" Sate Supreme Court Judge on a a "Liberal" Sate Supreme Court Judge....

maybe i missed all the other assaults and criminal activity?

as to protests if Obama loses? I would wait to see how tight eh margins are. If it comes down like Bush and Kerry did? Then yes i expect demonstrations as their should have been after the irregularities in the '04 election. if it is clear that Obama is not likely to win based on popularity before the election then no i don't expect much unrest...

remeber that we didn't have printed record for many of the electronic voting machines in '04 and i beleive that was changed everywhere after '04- i know it was changed here, we see printed receipt of our vot e now in our district. We don't get to keep it, bit we see it.

I would still prefer that we went to a ballot marked with a sharpie and so what if it takes two days to get results? It won't change anything to wait two day to find out who really won, i know there are too many ways to manipulate computers, its just too easy to steal an election that way.

Also consdier that real unemployment at 15% like we have now is bound to lead to unrest sooner or later. Quite frankly? Tge GOP has no solution that will work eother and that will become balatant after a short time. I see no reason the economy will imporve anytime in the forseeable future due to reason beyond the White House or even Congress. The reason we willha this economy for the forseeable future is due to the high price of fuel, and chep labor ioverseas. Neithr of those will be addressed by "cutting taxes"... and that appears to be what Obama willa sk fo this week in his speech, so i don't expect that to change the economy eihter....

what the candidates say will have alot to do with how the general public behaves...

what was it Perry said they do to Treasury secretaries that print money in Texas? That kind of talk will light big fire...

Have you noticed all the news on the Texas drought and wildfires? I wonder if Perry shouldn't be at home in TX putting out fires and watering crops instead of running for Presidnet [Smile]

OK a search revealed these arrests:

On June 8, a dozen silent demonstrators wearing zombie makeup and protest T-shirts were arrested after lying down on the floor of a legislator's Capitol offices and refusing to leave. Police carried out the demonstrators “one by one” after the group spent about half an hour in the offices of Representative Robin Vos (R-Rochester).[169]

On June 16, two protesters were arrested after locking themselves onto the Senate gallery railing with bike locks. Later in the day six other people in the Capitol had been arrested on allegations of disorderly conduct.[170]

On August 25, 13 protesters were arrested after they refused to leave the capitol after the designated 7 p.m. closing time. The protest came on the first day that higher pension and health contributions kick in for state employees.[171

that may not be all of them, but considering that as many as 100,000 people appeared to protest at one time? i'd say that it was pretty "civilised"... esp when you consider how people behave after World Series and other major sporting events these days [Wink]

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

--Moody's cuts long-term ratings of Bank of America two notches, Wells Fargo one notch and affirms Citigroup's

--Firm cuts short-term rating of Citigroup

--Both Bank of America, Citigroup disagree with their respective cuts

(Updates with Wells Fargo statement in 11th paragraph, CDS and bond prices of downgraded banks starting in 13th paragraph, added background.)

By Matthias Rieker and Joan E. Solsman
Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Moody's Investors Service downgraded Bank of America Corp.'s (BAC) and Wells Fargo & Co.'s (WFC) long-term ratings and the short-term ratings of Citigroup Inc. (C), finishing a more than three-month review by saying it believes the U.S. government is less likely to support the banks if they get into financial trouble.

Moody's said the probability that the government would allow a large bank to fail is greater now than it was during the financial crisis. It added, however, the government is likely to continue to provide some level of support to systemically important financial institutions.

The ratings for Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Citi before Wednesday's downgrade reflected a greater level of government support than for five other systemically important financial companies--J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM), Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), Morgan Stanley (MS), State Street Corp. (STT), and Bank of New York Mellon Corp. (BK) Now all eight companies are rated consistently with regard to possible government support.

wait till whichever of these folds and the Fed don't move to support it- at that point you will see long lines of angry people at ATMS.... then the fun begins

trust glenbeck to find the dirt.
Lerner represents janitors for crying ut loud, you really think janitors are the reason the economy is collapsing? sheesh...

i'm not sure if you noticed but the credit rating of the banks were cut again yesterday- what did janitors and window washers have to do with that?

they are leading the economy into the tank with this rabble rousing? LOL...

until people figure out what really happened three years ago? we aren't going to get over this at all. the Banks got caught with NO MONEY, the money they claimed they had? it was gone. why is that so hard to understand? The real questions should be where did it go and how do we stop them from doing it again? less rules? LOL.. yep that'll stop the white collar criminals
cuz they want to make sure that people "trust them" professionally? [Wall Bang]

the banks had no cash to cover the deposits adn the FDIC was on the hook for more than the bailouts. why is that so hard for the TParty to grasp?

there is it right there, that is the mentality I am talking about. Lets all just keep pretending like this was never said, or people dont believe in this crap. Meanwhile, lets go find a tea party member to call a tea bagger...yeah thats the ticket!

well cash, if you show up at their rally's and stop them i'm sure everyone will thank you for it..

people like Lerner are always in society, but their power is created by circumstances.

DOW is down 420 right now, what did the SEIU have to do with that? That's what is going to light the fires.

Today was brutal! The good news was the oil price came down...it tanked today actually. I have been noticing the gas prices go down in my area more aggressively even before today so this will really help people out.
