I am up late watching the reruns of the MSNBC lineup. I have been watching them all night laughing. Did you all see Obama give his party a talking to? C'mon, you have to admit it is a little funny. You should see how hot Keith Olberman is. He his own party a verbal schelacking.

All these show hosts are acting like lil nannys. Oh boo hoo Obama compromised. I actually give him props for making something happen that is win win. Now you are seeing who will not agree with anything he does at all. Much of that of course, is debatable to some of you.

It isn't so much that liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so many things that aren't so.

win win?

it's not win win if you want the deficit to go down...

the "funny" part in all this is that Obama broke his promise and the GOP broke theirs and the winners are the money lenders... not the People.

fact is? they are all liars.

we need to return to the 2007 budget (written in '06) immediately.

Obama just cut govt civil service paychecks at the request of the GOP cuz the GOP wants the Govt to become WalMart, well let's see the Politicians curb their paychecks too.

Can't say I am too sad about the wage freeze for government workers. Two out of the last four years have gone by without a wage increase for myself and a majority of those I work with and next year's budget forecast doesn't look too rosy either.

It is hard to be a non-profit agency in this economic climate and the government is set up to be a non-profit.

the average Govt employee has more than double the average educvation beyond HS in the USA. They don't flip burgers or greet people at walmart

furthermore, the Govt has been contracting so much more int eh last ten years that one or two people get a ton of money on the contract and most of their employees get paid much much less There's the place to cut, ever see the books on HAL? Or on blackwater? they are the ones to be cut.

you cannot get more middle middle class than being a US civil servant and this is an assault on the middle class.

now, if your pay hasn't gone up it's because you are not working at improving yourself enough to justify it. That's always been the rule in private business, and why i am an independent contractor and have been for most of my adult life. i justify my pay with every single transaction. The Govt employees were laughed at in the 90's and will be" with govt employees that we have always had is job security. They are not overpaid, the rest of the country is unemployed or underemployed, and that's why these stats look so tilted... it's just more voodoo and it's BS. The civil service people are what keeps this country running, and cut them and this country will swirl even faster than it is right now. Cut people who felt secure to buy a home and watch them stop paying mortgages? that will be the end of all of this.

i have no problem with political appointees and elected officials taking pay cuts.

they are busy setting up real non-profits for themselves and their poltical donors to have cooshy jobs when they are voted out, cuz they are busy robbing US all right now...

but the difference between the US and third world countries in NOT how wealthy the wealthy are,

i've been in plenty of places with very very wealthy people (a very few too) and so many poor people that you become immune to the smell of raw sewage flowing in the same river that the drinking water comes from..

those are the real differences between first and third world countires, the rich don't have to drink that water and everybody else does...

ever look up the pay of the stuffed shirts on TV? Juan Williams who was (rightfully and legally) fired from NPR signed a multi-million dollar deal to TALK on Fox TV...

rush? glen? Katie? millions of $... that who is getting tax cuts my friends... that's why so many people have been brainwashed into thinking the rich pay too much...

and they do not even keep their "extra" money here

note the date:

Government salaries vs. private sector salaries

Despite lower pay in the upper echelons of the government, half of government workers surveyed by CareerBuilder.com said they plan to stay in their current jobs until retirement, and the government's benefits package may be one reason for federal employees' longevity.

Unlike most private employees, federal workers can choose from several health plans and life insurance options, according to the Department of Labor's "Career Guide to Industries." The government also helps pick up the tab on the premiums.

Government workers also get more paid time off than many other employees. All federal employees receive 13 days of sick leave a year, which accrue indefinitely, according to the DOL. They also earn 13 vacation days each of their first three years of service, 20 vacation days for their next 12 years, and 26 vacation days after their 15th year.

And the benefits don't stop at retirement. Those hired after January 1, 1984 can participate in the three-tiered Federal Retirement System.

Still, nearly 40 percent of government employees told CareerBuilder.com they are dissatisfied with their spot on the government's pay scale. One-in-four were not given a raise last year and 86 percent did not see a bonus.

yeah the "benefits make th differnce", everybody suddenly wants to cut pensions so we can all be poor old people...

the propagnada is getting so bad that i am sure that the water treatment plant took the last year off...

one more thing to keep in mind the most recent data available is 2008:

The federal government spent about $224 billion in 2008 on compensation for about 2 million civilian employees.

that's not the problem with the deficit. cutting ALL of that won't fix the deficit. The deficit is totally from tax cuts and wars. When you go to war? You RAISE taxes. not cut them. everybody has to pay, not just the Volunteers in the military

heres' the pie chart:
