I've been listening to the emotional garbage people have been spewing over this thing for weeks now.
Let me start by saying i think it's pretty dumb, to build aMosque there, unless of course the Moslems who come to pray there are interested in taking a stance against extremsim, or the CIA has offices all around the Mosques monitoring it for extremist activity.I also wonder if any of the CIA NOC contractors bid on the construcion job so they could plant monitoring eqpt in the building itself? yep the CIA has NOC construction companies-KRB used to be one until they became too obvious....
seriuosly? If we beleive that our Constitution is correct? We have no legal way to prevent this.
You cannot even pass a law that says no religious buildings at all will built there according to the Constitution.
We could legalise prostituion on the same block tho That would be Constitutional

I wonder uf it would be OK for a moslem to walk in the area?..could they build a restaurant close by?..if you mean that its dumb because moslems are setting themselves up for more hatred, then I agree. Its bad for them. Not for non=muslims tho

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Mark Levin made a funny comment on what they should open next to it. A Hooters on one side, and a Military bar on the other.
Nobody I think really feels they should legally stop them. Its the fact that the muslims go around saying how peaceful they are, how open, loving, and understanding they are.
this is a jerk move and they know it, if this imam sees how many people are upset in the city, why cant he just relocate further down?
you hear the left saying "well so i guess we cant have christian churches there either" as some spin argument. christians or jews didnt fly planes into the towers.

and don't me the "he's not a GOP" line..he's on Fox
I dont know who would be lockstep with Obama right now other than Nancy Pelosi. That would be lock step, not Hamas.

Where does all this end ? This is crazy 99% of all the IRA is Catholic. So should we be afraid or offended by a Catholic Church? They would have blown the twin towers to kingdom come if an important enough target was in there and that was the only way to get them.

Ted Olson breaks from the GOP on NYC mosque: Obama ‘was right about this.’ This afternoon, Ted Olson — whose wife died in the September 11th attacks — distanced himself from other conservatives and told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that he did not oppose the building of a mosque near ground zero. “It may not make me popular with some people, but I think probably the President was right about this,” he began:
OLSON: I do believe that people of all religions have a right to build edifices or structures, places of religious worship or study where the community allows them to do it under zoning laws and that sort of thing. And that we don’t want to turn an act of hate against us by extremists into an act of intolerance for people of religious faith. And I don’t think it should be a political issue. It shouldn’t be a Republican or Democrat issue either. I believe Governor Christie from New Jersey said it as well, that this should not be in that political partisan marketplace. Olson also discussed the recent court decision to stay Judge Walker’s decision overturning Proposition 8 and why marriage equality is “consistent with conservative values.”
